Did I waste my bucks?

Hi All

I scored a Scott 410A integrated amp from a secondhand store today. While at the store, I powered it up with a tuner and all controls seem to work and its condition is OK - no scratches or marks. Just a bit dirty. The price I paid was around 40 dollars US. I tried to find some technical data or specs but for now, seem to draw blanks everywhere except a thread here from 2006 which mentioned the word 'mediocre'.

Are there any users at AK of this equipment and could some kind members please supply some info.

Much appreciated

Dear Tripod,

kx250rider did not mean harm, I'm sure. He just wanted to help
you maximize the probability of your getting an answer. Older Scott
audio equipment is highly regarded, but most of the people perusing
this TV forum have other interests. Good luck, be careful not to let
the smoke out of this fine old unit.

I see that you've been on audiokarma for only a month or so. You will
get used to it and come to enjoy it, I'm sure.

Personnally, I don't believe that 40 bucks for a working amplifier is
wasted money.

Sorry Guys

My mistake. Apologies to kx. I missed 'Rectangular tube' and only saw 'Solid state'.

I'm not familiar with the Scott solid stuff after their earliest ventures int mid-60's, but most of their stuff that was made before Emerson bought them was competitive. If you like it, $40 is a deal. Maybe someone in the vintage Solid State forums has some more info for ya.

Thanks again, guys

Let's hope a kindly mod will move this query to an appropriate place. This'll teach me to LOOK before I post.

Cheers
