I must own it!!!!

Hey, I've got this set :) I just need the remote! When I got mine it was full of water, rust, and a couple tubes had gone to air. Would you believe after a thorough cleaning, a repaint and a couple tubes it performs flawlessly...it's a Zenith!

There was one of those remotes on ebay last week. Probably gone by now. :eek:

Some guys have all the luck! I have a Space Command from 58 that you could eat off of that wont do much of anything. Others talk about the things like there indestructable. Everyone has heard some of my frustrations with this set so I wont say any more except it still doesent work.

To DHR4683 if you are that into Zenith remote sets come on down to old Virginia and take Damien off my hands. Maybe you can exercise the beautiful but devilish set......:whip:

Man, I'll bet that big ass channel selector makes a loud clunk-clunk sound when you hit the remote channel changer button.

I had a friend who had a similar Zenith, that channel knob brought back that memory. It wasn't a space command, but I made up for that because I'm a space cadet!

A while back I related the story about how Lionel (trains) supplied the channel changing mechanisms to some TV makers. This was based on the technologhy they used in their locomotive's "E-Units" (a solenoid activated revolving drum switch, which in their locomotives reversed direction of same).

$47 is cheap for shipping a TV like this! Yes they are HEAVY.

Hmm. I'd like to think that nobody on this forum would make a side deal knowing that Doug wants it.

Unless it's going to be Doug's birthday present :D

my b-day is in 3 days. Sure would be a nice present to see it working and as nice of shape as the pics show it! My present will be seeing it in peices when I take it out of the box when it arrives;)
