Just bought this set and the guy doesn't know the model number so i need some help on this if anyone knows. I won't be getting it for a couple weeks and i want to have the paperwork (SAM'S) on it. Model number, chassis number or the Sams number would be great. Pics below.

Thanks,Don

Model G2350RZ "adams"

23G24 chassis

Looks like it calls for a Sams 91A-13 photofact and that may be fun to find.
Thanks for the fast info on the set.

Don

If you can't find someone with it here, ebay, etc. Sams technical publishing will sell you a copy for 15 bucks.

Its been my best bet when I can't find the sams otherwise.

Hi Don;

Just checked and I have the Sam's set # 91A, Folder 13, although all that's contained in folder 13 is the schematic for Zenith chassis 23G24. If this is what you need I can either photo copy and mail it, or scan and e-mail it to you. You can PM me with your e-mail or home address if this is what you need. Glad to help out.....
Bob.

Thanks Bob,
Looks like you saved me on this one. Haven't been able to find one so far.
Sent you a PM. Might be able to help you out on something.

Thanks again,
Don

A scan of the factory service manual would be just great. Been trying for about a year to buy one of these and i finally did. I bought three sets off this guy. One was this Porthole, the second one was a 1949 Westinghouse, and the last one was an Motorola (model-17T4E) that i'm not sure what year it was made. The guy said they hadn't been plugged up for at least 10 years,so it looks like a recap on each one for sure. The Westinghouse calls for a Sams 103 folder 17 that is sure tough to find also. A blonde porthole ? Some people have the best of luck! Man, what a great looking set! I sure love my blondes.
Best of luck on your blonde Porthole and yes they have more fun. Would love to see a pic on it.Pics of the tvs below.

Thanks For All The Help,
Don

Great Looking Porthole! I have the same one. Mine's a "Claridge" Model.
I really like the styling of this console with the rounded corners. If you want a hi-resolution image emailed of this ad let me know(1.93mb).http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=146358 You can also view a video of my Porthole here: http://www.vintagejukes.com/antiquet...etvvideos.html

Bkharris for scanning the factory manual for me, 7"estatdef for sharing his blonde with me, and Jim (classicradios) for the pic of his great looking set like mine and i sure enjoyed your videos. I watched them all. You sure have been a great help to me already.

Don,

I just finished restoring this model. I have a web page documenting the restoration. I need to get it updated with some final photos. If you still need the factory service manual I do have a scan of it that I can try to email to you. Make sure you screws holding the picture switch before pulling the chassis. I didn't notice that it was attached to the escutcheon before pulling the chassis on my set.

Sean, how you doing ? Just checked out your webpage and it looks great. Alot of good info there. Can't believe that flyback worked. I see what you mean on the switch. I would have never caught it in time. Looks like i have maybe a bad flyback and or a bad pic tube to look forward to. Are the parts as hard as the Porthole sets to get ahold of ? Since mine has a 12" screen i dread checking the tube. As far as the flyback goes i don't think you can even find one. I'll know more about it when i get it home. I think Bkharris is going to scan me a copy of the service manual, but i appreciate the offer anyway. Let me know when you get your web site updated and i'll take another look.

PS Jim i would like to have a scan of your ad. I have broadband so the size is okay. Should be able to get my email from my profile. If not shoot me a PM.

Thanks,
Don
