picture tubes

Fair Radio Sales in Lima Oh. currently has nos picture tubes, here is a quick list. 14BP4A,8BP4,23CP4,21YP4,21AWP4,21DSP4,21XP4,21AVP4 A,5ABP4,23ANP4,17QP4A,20HP4A,20DP4C,21VP4A,21ZP4A, and 23YP4.These can be tested before shipping, as of right now, none have been checked. They also have a lot of crt's. most are white screen ( I was told some of the military crt's were kind of green)Some of these may work in tv's, I do not know. If anyone would like, I will be more than happy to check for whatever tube you need. They do not put individual items in the catalog, only large quantities. Doug

Doug-

I am interested in the 5ABP4, or maybe more than one if they have them and depending on the price. I will send you a PM. Thank you.

I would be interested in the price and shipping cost of the 21ZP4A.

Is 8BP4 the one that the little 50's RCA portable uses? if so, I could use a good one (mine has virtually NO picture)

I would be interested in the 23anp4

When I go to Fair Radio today I will check on the prices and start testing them, I may not have enough time today though.Shipping, of course, may depend on the location it is going to.Doug They also have a lot of 10 inch and twelve inch round tubes, so feel free to give me numbers to check.

Yes, mine came from an extra I kept around for my(1949?)motorola 9vt1. My set caught on fire so I do not need it. This tube is the only one That I myself have. I am not sure what is a fair price for this(I only know tube radio prices). So PM me an price. Doug

No; not sure which one goes in the little 8PTxxx portables, but the 8BP4 is a round electrostatic tube that goes in the '49-'50 Motorola 8" sets. Same as a 7JP4 but 8".

I may have an extra tube from one of the metal 8" RCAs... Not sure, but I can check if you need. I have one I'm restoring, and one for parts. As long as the tube is OK in the one I'm keeping, I'd be happy to let go of the spare (if it's also good, of course)

Charles

20HP4 is electrostatic focus, right? It and 21AWP4 are tubes I've been looking for.

The metal RCA portable uses an 8DP4 rectangular tube. The 8BP4 is an 8" version of the 7JP4. I too would be interested in a price for that 8BP4 tube since I have a Motorola 9VT1.

How did your set catch fire? Was it the ballast tube? Mine always ran hot around the ballast tube. The ballast tube burned out and that is why my otherwise restored set is temporarily out of service.

Did you test your tube? The ion trap is very critical on these, even leaving the metal shield off will kill the picture.

ohohyodafarted 12-11-2007 05:43 PM

I'm interested in the 10 and 12 inch roundies 10bp4, 10fp4, 12lp4, 12kp4 if they have any.

nasadowsk 12-11-2007 05:44 PM

Yeah, the tube's done for. I played with the trap for a long time, plus it's showing typical signs of being shot....

KX - yeah, if you've got a spare you can, well, spare :) then I could use one.
