It's offered locally for 40 bucks. A 25" screen, System 3, Space Command.

Thanks, Snade

all zeniths are worthy sets. if it has a delta crt-it is a great set! remote to boot? if it is working, grab it.

Since it's digital tuning; I'd say it's a System 3 set. It probably uses a 9-160 power supply module. It may possibly use the older 9-153 type chassis. I don't think this has the flip down chromacolor II chassis since it has digital tuning. It's still worth grabbing especially if the tube is still good. If it's a System 3, it will have an inline tube. The inline tubes didn't hold up as well as the delta tubes.

DUH! If Id read the rest; I would have known it was a System 3 set!!

Shouldn't you say "All OLDER Zenith's are worthy sets"? The newer ones are awful...

That looks like an interesting TV. Probably not bad for $40.00.

I always thought that design was among the all-time ugliest, and I would never have one in my home. It is up to you, though.

Ditto... Quality is good, gawdawful styling...

They're not Zeniths, per se. :D

unusual styling to say the least.any zenith that vintage is worth 40 dollars.early inlines are allright-the delta guns are the best sets.

Isn't it funny how the ugly TV's seem to work the best? (most of the time)

A friend of mine has this puke green colored TV from the 70's and it's almost as though the picture tube hasn't aged a day. He had to replace the speakers in it because the originals rotted away, but that's about all it's needed.

That one is an early Sys III. Has inline tube, and probably the 9-153 sweep board. It's nonremote, if I'm not mistaken with that particular keyboard.

I would make sure the brightness of the CRT is good and also that the color balance is good...the System 3's seem to have more problems with weak crt's and problems in the video output module resistor network than the similar earlier delta gun models.

I'd say it is a great Tv, my 1982 25 incher is still going. Every once in a while the screen goes a little red but if we let it rest for a day or two, a week perhaps, it is OK for a few weeks to a few months. I'd fix it but I'm trying to score a part cheap or at least wait until I can afford to buy one from one of these outlets that sell parts good as new. It's been in use since early 1983 and is on now.

Yes, I would say it is good value.

those curved or caddy courner zeniths do produce a nice picture . I have a identical set, except mine has a rotary tuner, not a digital . Up till recently its been very reliable , until i had a few issues with the brightness getting dark, then bright after the set was on for several hours . However the snap in module/boards are always on ebay and very reasonable .
