I have one of these. Its been my guaranteed back up tv for years. Its a good performer. Mines been untouched since new and plays great to this day. The only reason it isnt my daily driver is because the screen size. Nice find!

... all the dump held today (of interest to me) was a small, late-model Lava Lamp (or ripoff thereof) that doesn't blurble too well.

I use a 35 watt microwave oven type appliance light bulb in my Lava Lamp clones. After they heat up really good, they usually blurble just fine. In my own experiences, that is...

Thanks for the tip. I have an older, "real" Lava Lamp (also a dump find) that uses a standard incandescent bulb and it blurbles (three uses; I think we've just coined a neologism-- a new word!) just fine.
