Odd Andrea Console TV/stereo/turntable
 

Hi,

I've come across this Andrea Console system but have not been able to find any information on line about it. It's an odd system being the console is round, and I've never seen anything like it.

It's in great conditions. (photos show dust) and picture tube works, but Speakers may not.
Does anybody have information regarding this and possibly if it's worth.

Andrea stuff is rarely seen, but unfortunately not worth much except to those few that collect it.

Its definitely from the early 70s. Could be all solid state or a tube hybrid. The gunk you see around the picture tube is the PVA that holds the safety glass in place deteriorating It will worsen over time unless you perform "cataract" surgery.

Please update your location in your profile. The biggest deterrent for collectors is shipping costs. To ship something that size properly so that it would arrive unscathed would cost in excess of 300 dollars to most places so someone who wants it would more than likely want to pick it up.


good luck finding it a home. It could be a fairly cool thing if properly restored.

I posted a magazine clipping about this model once. I don't know how long they were in production-I think the one I posted was from the late 60s. By the time this was made Andrea production was very low. It would be interesting to know what the chassis is. RCA clone? Hard to put a value on it-not too many collectors of TV sets this age, but it is collectible.

wow, that sure is a neat looking set if nothing else. I love that 70's era round design stuff. My friend has a round sectional arrangement that would be a perfect match for this lol.

I've never seen that model, but I've seen 60s & 70s Andrea color consoles. They aren't real Andreas. I think they were Warwick (same as Silvertone) or something.

I recognize the TT as a Garrard AT60 or similar. That's all I know.

Seems like I remember seeing something on these a long, long time ago...I was in HiSkule, & THAT was 1971-75...

Andrea Radio was one of two companies started by Frank Angelo D'Andrea. the other was FADA. Both are old respected quality brands that go back to the early days of radio, Andrea Radio's pre-war 1F5 TV set is very collectible. Some would say the holy grail.....
