New member - findm-keepm
Hello,
I'm new and wanted to introduce myself. I'm an old TV nut too. I started fixin' TV's when I was 13 - my Dad was/is a TV repairman. My first TV find? I bought an old GE black and white console (two-piece) from the 50's at a yard sale for $1.50 when I was 11. Dad did a recap job for me and I later sold it. Wish I still had it! I worked for Dad for a number of years fixing TVs and audio and I even worked for a year at a GE/RCA distributor as a salesman in the early 80's. What I can offer: RCA and GE parts (mostly late 60's and 70's stuff) and some technical advice / Parts info. What I have access to: Sams #1-current folders (okay, so they're Dad's!) and Dad's sage advice (He's 69 and STILL in business fixing TVs) My favorite TV? Any RCA Color, up to the ColorTrak/single board sets. To the AK members - thanks for the awesome site! |
Sounds like you'll be a valuable member.
The story of your early experiences that led you into electronics sounds familiar - I guess many of us got hooked at an early age by adopting old cast-off equipment that needed our help. :thmbsp: |
