Really nice admiral on ebay
 

OK, here is another nice set, about a 66 admiral. Same one captainmoody got a while back. This one needs work as it dont work. but the seller makes a good point, retrofit it with a new tv:uzi: Too many people think that way!

Anyway, Im going to bid on it, as this set uses dual horizontal outs.

From the control layout, I'd hazard a guess that it might be either a 68 or 69. My grandparents had one (different cabinet, though), that set was still running as late as 1988 or 1989 with minimal repairs when my brother dumped it (he took over my parents farm when my dad passed away, and he thought that there might be too much radiation coming from an old set for his kids. IIRC, the only major issue with that set was that the picture always had a greenish tinge, even when new. But as I say, it was reliable.

Doug, that's a pretty good set. I bet once you check all the tubes and clean the tuner all should be well. I remember original picture tubes were a weakness in those sets, but you could try to charge it (if it's bad) or pop a new tube in! Good luck
