That may be for a CT-100, but on the other hand, they used the same style plug all the way through CTC-5. I looked in my RCA field service manual, but all it shows is drawing numbers. The CT-100 drawing number for the yoke is 79116. If someone has the RCA parts cross reference, maybe they could cross this drawing number and see what part numbers come up...

Quick reality check: Andy, a CT-100 yoke uses seven of the eight pins on the connector. Pin 6 is blank. There appears to be one wire short in the picture. The mounting bracket also seems to be different from a production run set. A CTC4 should use all eight pins. Maybe that leaves you with a CTC5 yoke?

Agreed... If for no other reason than the CTC-5 was a MUCH bigger production run than all the previous color sets combined. Hence more parts lying around. Thanks for noticing the wires & pins used... It was late & I didn't think to look at that :nono: BUT I did notice that the wires are plastic, and the CT-100 has asbestos/cotton wires on the yoke if I recall.

Charles and I seem to have gotten faked out with this one. I get the same resistance readings with a Fluke 77 using an early-production CT-100 yoke.

You may/probably have a genuine CT-100 replacement RCA-manufactured yoke. An other possibility is a yoke from one of the kit-of-parts RCA was selling to rival manufacturers for development purposes in late 1953 and into 1954.

Any indications of use?

My CTC5 schematic is locked up in a sick hard drive. To bring this full circle, can someone check a schematic to see if the CTC5 and CTC2 use the same yoke pin-outs.

The following pinout shows jumpers and caps at the male yoke plug or internal in the yoke; not the chassis socket.

CT-100:

Pins 1 & 2 = Vertical

Pins 3 & 7 = Jumpered

Pins 5 & 8 = Horiz with Pin 4 Horiz windings center tap. Also a 270 Puf cap across one side of Horiz (pins 4 & 5) inside the yoke.

CTC-2B (21CT55):

Pins 1 & 2 = Vert, and pin 6 is also shorted to pin 1

Pins 3 & 7 = Jumpered

Pins 5 & 8 = Horiz with pin 4 Horiz windings center tap. Also a 150 Puf cap across one side of Horiz (pins 4 & 5) inside the yoke.

Same pinout & cap value as CTC-2B

Same pinout as CTC-2B & CTC-4, only difference is cap across one side of Horiz in this one is 82 Puf.

Puf is slang speech for 10E-12 Farads. However, should only be written as pF.

mmf is micro-micro Farads or 10E-6 X 10E-6 = 10E-12 Farads. Equivalent to pF.

...not to be confused with uF or micro Farads which is just 10E-6 Farads.

Of course, Puf is also a short form for Puffs...a breakfast cereal...Charles must of had 82 puffs in a bowl! :banana:
Then again, puf is what you do when take a drag of a cigarette. Didn't know you also smoked? :smoke:

I have looked at 2 CT100 yokes, the part number stamped on teh body of the yoke is:

1106203-1, and the "other" numbers on each yoke are
274402 and 274412

"274" is RCAs manufacturing code, and the 402 and 412 are, I believe, date codes (1954, 2nd and 12th weeks).

If this is so, you yoke would have a date code of 1964, 35th week.

I could not stand it, so I took the back off my CTC-4, and the yoke part number is 1106249, 274513.

So I am thinking you have a nice CTC-4 flyback! What a great find.

Why RCA did not stamp the part noumer on the yoke which shows up in the parts list is a constant source of aggrivation.

AND, USING YOUR FORMULA, YOUR RCA MANUFACTURING CODE #274513 WOULD INDICATE 1955 13TH WEEK. THIS WOULD BE A YOKE INTENDED FOR EITHER A VERY LATE PRODUCTION RCA 21-CT-55 MODEL OR HELD OVER FOR AN EARLY PRODUCTION CTC-4. WAS THE THE SAME YOKE USED FOR BOTH 21-CT-55 AND CTC-4 MODELS?
