The WORST POS movie I have EVER seen!
 

Hi all,

First, let me qualify my statement by saying, the ONLY reason I attended this (so call) movie was that I work as a Direct Support Professional
(working with "special needs" young adults) and this young man wanted to see this movie. Dear God, in my over 50 years of living, I have NEVER seen such a POS movie as "BENCH WARMERS".
This film with past cast members of "Saturday Night Live" has got to be the most STUPID, DUMB, CRUDE, POS ever to come out of Hollywood. My God, I just can't go on.

You obviously didn't delve into the subtle nuance's of the film. Exploring first, the traumatic conflict between the protagonists. Followed by the angst felt by all in the theater. finally culminating in the emergence of the dramatic lead into his proper place in todays society. On the bench with a warm bum.

Yeah, but, SixCats!, old bean, how do you REALLY feel about this piece of Cinema Verite' ? Come on, now, don't hold back...Hehehehe....

I haven't seen Bench Warmers but one of the worst movies I've ever seen was Practical Magic with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. :no: What a waste of two hours. Keep in mind that I worship at the alter of Ms. Kidman :yes: so I really hated it even with her as the star.

Destined for the Walmart 'Dump Bin' I guess. It did look very sophmoric from the previews, in the same league as Dumb an Dumber.

Thank you for your replies. Guys, I am here to tell you, films such as DUMB and DUMBER, Pee Wee's Big Top, Cabin boy, those Police Academy movies and even that new re-make of the PINK PANTHER with Steve Martin, I would consider ACADEMY AWARD material (I kid you not!) compared to this POS! If I could of left the theatre (something I've ever done) I would of left and asked for a REFUND! Duff, I haven't seen the movie you mentioned but, I bet it's a THOUSAND times better than BENCH WARMERS.
Heck, I mean NICOLE KIDMAN, come on! Henry and Sandy, lol, your comments are pretty darn funny and help ease my pain! I swear, I almost want to RECOMMEND you see this POS film if only to see just how AWFUL this film is and that I am NOT exaggerating!

Oh, and one of the worst I've ever seen-

Spaced Invaders! :alien:

We saw it in the theater- the projection was off, as the charactors were all "stretched".

The boom mikes were in many, many scenes. You could see the mike moving in many of the scenes.

And one of the aliens was acting like an intergalactic Jack Nicholson, including the drawl and speech pattern. Ugh!

My girlfriend at the time bought it for me on DVD as a gag gift. We were so dissapointed when we watched it- they took the boom mikes out of the scene by re-editing!!!!!! Those were the ONLY funny parts!

A truly miserable film but.....you haven't lived until you see the groaner of all time - "Valley of the Dolls." It even beats such magnum opus films as "ROBOT MONSTER" and "REEFER MADNESS" for sheer awfulness. :yes:

One of the worst I've seen lately was "Proof" with the brokeback mountain guy.. man that movie sucked.. all she did was yell and act crazy and do math.

Are these worse than even, uhh, erm,I hate to even mention it's name...Well, here goes- "SHOWGIRLS" ? That Had to be the most awfulest waste of good Kodak fillumn the country boy has ever seen. I had a crush on Elisabeth Berkeley as the hottie "Jessie" in "Saved by the Bell"- but I was beggin' her to put her clothes back on. And me being a deviated prevert 'n' all...that's sayin' a LOT...Paul Verhoeven deserved to be shot in the kneecaps & left to rot in the desert 50 miles outside of Vegas for that steaming pile..

The MOST disappointed I've been in a more recent film was "HULK"
Damn that movie sucked, and even my 11 year-old son agrees.

Oh, and Sandy, the last thing in the world I would do is tell Elisabeth Berkeley to put her clothes back on.. :smoke:

That's just insane now.. Billy madison and happy gilmore were some of the best comedy movies I've seen. But yeah it hasn't been going uphill from there. He's still a funny guy though.. lets just leave punch drunk love out of this one. :nono:

Sandy, I have not seen SHOWGIRLS. That being said...GIRLS = GOOD!
NAKED girls = BETTER! I therefore must conclude that SHOWGIRLS was the better movie! Reto, I did not see the HULK but, I did see the previews and it looked awful! Still, I bet it was a MUCH better than that Fu#@%n POS named

Oooh, danj, was ROBOT MONSTER that low budget pix with an APE with the Space helmet ? If so, (although it's been years since I've MIGHT of seen RM) I conclude that ROBOT MONSTER would be a MUCH better movie than BENCH WARMERS (which by the way SUCKS!). Ooh danj, come on, at least REEFER MADNESS had some funny moments! Guys, sorry, I can't comment on the other films such as PROOF,SPACE INVADERS, etc. As I haven't seen them.
Nevertheless, I conclude that they are ALL better pixs than BENCH WARMERS!

Yeah, well, ordinarily, I like to see most purty young women Nekkid as much as possible...ESPECIALLY one as purty as Elisabeth Berkeley...But "Showgirls" was so..so ODIOUS you just wanted it all to be over. You just hafta to steel yerself & TRY to watch it to see what I mean...it sure shot poor ol' Elisabeth's career in the head...I don't think she could get work in a dog food commercial now..

Big Top Pee Wee was definately no Big Adventure, but Cabin Boy holds me in a very strange and intense grip of affinity. Of course I like Chris Elliot and Brian Doyle-Murphy together, so yes.. I watched Get a Life. :smoke:

"In loved it!" - my daughter. And she did. I didn't think it was too bad. It was certainly better than Date Movie. That was a bad movie.

Once again I say that "Valley of the Dolls" is a worse movie than "Bench Warmers." It's even worse than "GI Jane", "Showgirls", and "Dogs and Cats."

Care to pass judgement on these masterpieces?

I vote for Bounce with Ben AFlack or better spelled bad actor... my girlfriend at the time sprung big bucks for us to see this movie in a high end theater. it was all i could do to stay awake. horrible. I stuck through it for her since she sprung for it.. only to find out later she thought it sucked too. she wished we would have gone to the car for some hanky panky instead.. well we did later lol.
broke up with her a month later ... to this day i cant stand that movie.
St Elmo's Fire goes on my list of wretched movies although an 18 yr old Demi Moore looked nice and slutty.
I know its a made for TV movie Steven Kings IT... the epitomoe of bad acting and just wretched... I am a huge fan of the book ... I loved Kings choices of actors for the movie... but it looked soo forced and the dialog is wretched. Would love to see Peter Jackson remake it into a 9 hour trilogy.

Hey, I watched Monolith Monsters about ten times as a kid. Lola Albright, what a hottie. meaniced by large phallic rock croppings. Wooo Hoo man!!!!

Can't remember the name of the movie but Rutger Hauer was in it. Some military action flick. I like Rutger Hauer and lots of explosions. After 5 minutes I had to turn it off.

You want really bad sleeper. Andy Warhol's 1st movie, a silent film called "Sleep" was 6 hours long. It was suppose to be 8 hours. You guessed it. It was about a guy sleeping.

NO list of really horrendous movies would be complete without the inclusion of the cinematic butchery of Tom Wolfe's, Day of the Locust. The book was no literary masterpiece, but was sent to heretofore unheard-of depths in the film rendition.

my all time bad movie was Caveman. should have been a lot better with shelly long, barbara bach, ringo starr, dennis quaid in it.... it was bad..................

Yeah, Showgirls was bad, but it was so bad it was funny.

And the only redeeming feature of Ishtar was the blind camel.

But for TRULY rotten cinema, you just can't get worse than Two Moon Junction. Makes Ishtar look like Citizen Kane. Sat through an hour of that trash before walking out, then was angry at myself that I'd waited that long.

"Starship Troopers" was pretty arful, too. After awhile, I was rootin' for th' dam bugs. Did like the shower scenes, tho....

Bench Warmers can't be worse than Date Movie. I was treated to this steaming pile of dung on DVD at work last night. I don't know what the hell Alysson Hannigan was doing starring in this POS. Now there is one hot red head, and after her success in American Pie flicks and with her sitcom, they must have paid her a gazillion dollars to appear in this film. Whatever happened to great parody flicks like Airplane or Naked Gun 2 1/2?

Face it, fellow Karmics, there are many worthwhile candidates for "WORST POS" movie. Most of those mentioned in this thread are in the running.

We love bad movies because they make us laugh. Maybe we didn't laugh while suffering through one, especially at today's ticket prices, but we almost always laugh afterwards. We get the joke, even if the producers and filmmakers did not.
