I looked it up on Ed Reitan's web page. Looks to be the Boswell, 210-CT-82. Looks to the low cost model of the line.

I think it's a CTC9. Polarman got luckey because his CTC9 is an actual wood cabinet, mine is a silly similated woodgrained metal cabinet. Mine also cost $280 plus $480 to ship the damn thing. :)

I got in contact with the seller tonight. He was selling it for a 86 year old Tv repairman. The vertical output transformer is out and it comes with a new replacement. I was going to pick it up Saturday but he is going to Orlando Hamfest. I would not make a man miss out on a hamfest. It will get picked up next weekend.

Speaking of Ham Fests I have been going to the one in Miami every year for the last 28 years. About 3 or 4 years ago they had one huge room just for swap tables, between 900 and 1,000. In the other large buildings they had the manufactures area and displays. Last 4 years it has gotten smaller and smaller. This year it was all in one building and other than stocking up on ni-cads and Li-on aaa, aa, c, d and and even real 9 volt batteries that put out 9.6 volts at 250 Ma. I saw some evereadys on blister cards and if you read the small print it says for 9 volt applications, actual output is 7.2 volts at 13 Ma. Anyway unless we get a large increase attendance I am afraid The Miami Tropical Hamboree and computer show may just dissappear.

I hate how nicad AA's only have 1.2 volts, my digital camera takes four of them and won't go very long since it's already being starved of .8 volts even with new and recharged batteries. Does anybody make nicads that have the real 1.5 volts?!

I'm not sure about that, but you may be able to find lithium ion batteries that are rechargable in AA form. A little more money, but well worth the expense if you use your camera frequently.

Until someone can change the laws of physics lead / acid cells will put out 2 volts, alkaline 1.5 volts, lithium is 3 volts per cell and ni-cads are 1.2 volts.

Back in the old days , 1970's 5 watt cb walkie talkies would come with two dummy batteries so when you used alkaline you would use 8 cells for 12 volts and for ni-cads you would remove the fake batteries and use 10 ni-cads for 12 volts. I guess that with 15 volts the transmitter would break some FCC laws.

It is a CTC 7AA and not a CTC 9. It is 21CD872. According to Ed Reital's site the set is called the Abington. It is in the early CTC 7 models. The CRT is the original to the set. It has a 1958 date code on it. I brought it up on the tester and it is good!!!! :banana: I missed out on a CTC 7 and got another the same week.

Is that a glass CRT in there? I thought 7's had metal.

This set is supposed to have the glass CRT. I think the 21AXP22 was finished after to CTC 5.

I had a chance to pull the chassis. Both fuses are blown and I do not want to plug it in. It is really dirty. I used the vacuum cleaner with a brush to get the dirt off. I will have to take it out side to hose it off. The set has been played with. I do not know how long ago. My test equipment is not here yet. I feel the need to get at this soon.

Polaraman, you are correct. The metal 21AXP22A picture tube ended as original equipment with the CTC-5.

The CTC-7 series originally had the newly
introduced all glass 21CYP22A picture tube.
The 21CYP22A has the two recessed high voltage connectors on the side. A resistor is used between the two connectors to reduce arcing damage.
