No not really but I have general ideas from years of experience with its stuff. The 1702 monitors are highly sought after and are a common choice for gamers looking for a good CRT set. Of course the ced players and movies are a great find. I also have a denon multi cassette unit I'll post in a while.

Dude111 03-06-2016 01:04 PM

Yeah I've been at it all day yesterday and today. Just cleaned a Akai vcr, more disk storage units and a total of 5 Commodore power supplies and cables. Got the 1702 manuals from that link you sent. Good to have. These cleaned up and tested perfect. Haven't seen a bad one since they came out. :thmbsp:

Nope haven't come across that one yet. Someone had one for $80 once. Found a guy last night with 122 movies and 4 players and Goonies was one of them.

MIPS 03-08-2016 07:33 AM

1702's are awesome. First s-video monitors I ever touched.
C128's though...they are a nice upgrade from the c64 but almost no software really supported the upgraded hardware fully. Most stuff still ran in c64 mode.
Nice CED players though. You guys seem to be going crazy over them.

Dude111 03-08-2016 08:01 AM

I guess POLTERGEIST (1982) also Pac If ya have it... (I have IT but no player)

I just ordered what I think is a MONO copy of it on VHS and if its STRAIGHT ANALOGUE (Not digitally produced stereo) it will be grand.... (It doesnt say STEREO on the box cover so I am hopefull)

Nope, not that one either. Let me know how the vhs turns out.

pac.attack76 03-08-2016 08:31 AM

Two vcrs I went through yesterday:

AKAI VS-1092U (has TA7245BP on top of it) is that a part number? Tested, powers on normal, loads and unloads normal but grinding and noise from underneath while loaded.
Emerson VCR765 (works)

Is there an actual interest in RCA CED discs? I've kept all of mine, some still sealed. But really, isn't all the content available on more modern media now? Just curious. Im not going to dispose of them, I have 2 players.

Check Ebay. A working player and decent collection of discs can fetch a C-note.

Don't throw your gear out. There is a group of CED player collectors just like there is a group of tube era TV collectors, just like there is a group of vinyl collectors.

I presently have 5 CED players and a ton of discs. I plan to fix and sell a duplicate player and a portion of my discs in a few months (most of my discs were bought in lots so a percentage of the movies are stuff I don't like).

If you want your gear to just go away and are near by I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

Id say theres an interest. Check out cedmagic.com. Worth more than any dvd or bluray. the so called modern media can only hope to gain the status that older media has gained.

There are an oddly large number of movies that came out on CED that never saw a re-release on DVD or even VHS. While the technology is largely redundant at this point with the rest of the selection available on other formats it doesn't hurt to get a dozen or so movies and add it into your AV system for kicks.

No problem. I love sharing this kind of stuff. I'm actually watching Escape From New York right now on my 25" 1984 RCA XL-100. The silver deck is stereo. I think it's SJT 200.

Good for you..... I am desperate to find a good MONO player :)

I hope you dont ever get rid of those!!

pac.attack76 03-10-2016 06:53 AM

I'm trying to hook you up but out of the five I have, they're all different models. Next time I come across any more though, I'll have a better chance of finding something I already have. I won't have a need for duplicate machines.

Dude111 03-10-2016 01:51 PM

I definetly hear ya pac!!

What one do you like the best so far?

Well, I've had my SJT 090 for a couple years now and has performed perfect. But I've always wanted an earlier model with the lever on the right. Now I have an SGT 075 and a SFT 100 W. I'd have to say they're my favorite. Probably because they're older. I'm glad to have them all and not one is the same as the other. Similar in ways but all different. The SJT 090 and SJT 100 are close. The SJT 200 is stereo and silver with aluminum trim instead of grey.

Dude111 03-10-2016 06:12 PM

Wow they must be fascinating to use :)

And watch a beautiful 100% analog presentation!!!!!

Ah man!!

Ah man!!

Yeah, it's definitely different from everything else. The ones with the doors (later models) take the movie from you after pushing so far in, then it clicks. Back edge is caught and the caddy is sent back to you empty and you take it out. Disc lowers and your in. The earliest models, you just set the lever to load/unload which turns the unit on, you push the movie in till it clicks and pull it out. Nearly the same deal. Then bring the lever back up to play. Coolest retro thing I've dealt with in years.:thmbsp:

pac.attack76 03-11-2016 07:39 AM

The last bits I have not shown yet are:

Wood Magnavox speakers model 1S8701
MCS Series 683 2270D single cassette deck
3 Pioneer stereo components
YORX table stereo in mint condition from 1990 I'll probably use in my shop. Problem with cd section though.

Dude111 03-11-2016 01:28 PM

Very good!!!!!!!

pac.attack76 03-11-2016 04:37 PM

Forgot to include the tag for the back of those Magnavox speakers. Also a 1982 Midland 13" color set.
