Hello. I just found an old Toshiba Color tv.
I thnk its made in eairly 70s.

Does anyone know if it is worth anything?

Very nice! You almost never see the tube era Japanese import color sets. If one appeared locally I would not hesitate to save it.

Very rare looking set indeed, I have seen Toshiba colour TVs of the late 70s and have one but this set looks like it is made around the mid/late 1960s possibly early as 1965, that is going by judgement of the appearance of the TV, the fact it is still using valves and metal chassis and comparing it to the first US rectangular colour sets made that year!

I'm jealous....

Reading the model number off the back 719C1, I did a Google search to see if there's any info on it, I have found there's a service manual for it on the SAMS Photofact site on this page https://samswebsite.com/en/photofact...ndex/id/182072 which you can buy for $22, also the manual is available on this site http://www.smcelectronics.com/samsclrtv3.htm for a much cheaper price of $7.50. Apart from that no other info or pictures on the Google search so it is indeed a rare set!

I didnt know it was a rare piece. I was gonna take it apart and use the transformers for my amplifier but I guess ill have to keep it as it is.

Thank goodness you came to us before doing that, glad you decided to keep it in one piece. Back in 1996 when I was 15 I pulled an early 70s Grundig colour TV off the street, it was pretty much screwed but somewhat restorable but back then TV restoration wasn't my thing and I stripped the components and turfed out the tube/cabinet, I totally regret it now because it was a German imported set which is rare to find in Australia. Anyways hope you might be thinking of getting this set working as it would be good to see it display pictures, if you do the SAMS Photofact manual will be of aid to you.

Yep, probably did have some nice, long, skinny legs-easy enough to add them. A nice catch! You wouldn't really want any part of that set for an amp, anyway. Now, I don't think you are about to get rich...but this really does need to be preserved. What part of the country are you in?

Most of those Toshiba sets out were Sears branded. The earlier model was simular, but had the big neck like a roundie.

Nice find, and RARE to find one in the Toshiba nameplate and nut rebranded Sears or other store name...

Value? Unsure. Not ultra-hot, but I'm sure it is worth at least what any other all-tube console color set is worth.

I have a Canadian Panasonic color set similar to that under the Husqvarna-Viking name. I think I traded a metal case 60s RCA color set for it.

Far Out! What a find :yes: I'm glad you're not going to wreck it, that would be criminal :) I've never seen any tube japanese TV's myself but this Toshiba sure looks fascinating to say the least. Do you plan to try and get it working at all?

LOL... I've seen that name on all kinds of stuff. We have a Husqvarna leaf blower, and my wife's sewing machine is a Husqvarna, and we have an unrestored but saveable 1973 Husqvarna dirt bike (straight from Steve McQueen's old barn in Santa Paula, CA).

And I have a pair of Husqvarna-Viking workboots.

I guess Husqy is the "GE of Sweden"

Husqvarna also produced Mouser rifles 50+ years ago.

I remember that set! Think it has a matsushita chassis in it.

I have one of those branded Packard Bell I was fighting with for over a month. You helped me with it. Loaded with leaky wax/paper capacitors and had a bad phase diode among other things.

That looks rare and beautiful. I've seen several all-tube TV sets, but very few, if any, fullsize console sets. That would look awesome in my living room. :)
