That's a new one on me. However, it does look like a B&W.

That looks like one of the rebadged Toshiba sets Sears sold in the mid 60's

Electronic M 08-16-2011 07:54 PM

I like it, but before today I was broke and out of space. Then I found a maggie console today for 40$ at a thrift, and well... Now I'm broker and further out of space. :sigh:

drh4683 08-16-2011 08:12 PM

Yep, I saw this one. Plan on saving it.

Electronic M 08-16-2011 08:31 PM

DaveWM 08-16-2011 08:45 PM

Haven't pluged her into the old variac yet, but am dyeing to.

Could it be? A vintage pre-1970 Panasonic color set? That's gotta be rare.

Darn! I loves me some Japanese sets, let me know if you don't plan on getting it or if you wanna sell/trade ect.... This set definitely looks to be a Panasonic.

I just got a really nice Space Command 600 with bass and treble controls in a French Provincial cabinet about a week or so ago, otherwise I don't have much stuff you'd like to trade me for.

A worked on a 1967 Penncrest, some time in the mid-eighties. That thing had so really odd-ball tubes in it. IF tubes such as, 6BX6 etc. Toshiba is the only set that used big neck, like a roundy.

Dave A 08-17-2011 10:59 PM

The logo at the bottom sure looks like the little red National "N" followed by the Panasonic lettering.

bgadow 08-18-2011 10:58 PM

My second guess, after Panasonic, would be Truetone. I feel foolish for passing up a similiar looking Sharp a year or so ago.

zenith2134 08-19-2011 12:18 AM

Hi My guess is that this is a Hitachi color solid state, 1970-71

zenithfan1 08-19-2011 09:02 AM

It's a '69 Panasonic 19" mini console.....

freakaftr8 08-19-2011 10:36 AM

Thought it looked like a Panasonic too..
Go get it!

zenithfan1 08-19-2011 10:57 AM

It's already gotten, not by me though. I wanted this set soooo bad I could taste it. (it tasted like Sushi with a side of Curry and rice balls:D)

DaveWM 08-19-2011 11:23 AM

anybody here? nice to see more pics.

mwplefty 08-19-2011 11:29 AM

Wow. I can't believe they are "liquidating" that house. I love the old 1960's home decor. It looks like that home hasn't been changed a bit in 45+ years.

zenithfan1 08-19-2011 01:09 PM

Yeah, that house was pretty cool, untouched for many years. And yes, it was someone here that got it, plus one more. That one more was me but I sold it right away because the offer was so good. I wish that I had more time to have thought it through, I'm kicking myself now as it is something I've wanted for about ten years:sigh: I have money in my pocket now but there is still that empty hole in my collection.

Hey Mark, I'm glad you don't mind me being silly. Sarcastic humor can be a risky thing while on the net.

I do hope you guys down in Chicago land never have a Craigslisting convergence traffic accident while all rushing to a desirable old TV.

zenithfan1 08-19-2011 03:03 PM

I don't mind silliness at all, I enjoy it. That's a good one! That scenario, as scary as it sounds, doesn't seem impossible. In fact, it's only a matter of time as these things get more scarce. :D We'd probably make the news for it too:P
