Favorite movies
Would be a much easier question to ask if it was broken down in categories but over all Whats your favorite movie. Really hard to choose but at or near the top of mine would be Reservoir Dogs. The tipping scene is worth the price of admission alone.
Also near the top of my list would be Shawshank Redemption The Green mile Cool hand Luke The unforgiven ( just for the final fight scene ) Could rattle off several of my Honorable mentions but at the top of that list would be The Outlaw Josey Wales Damn i gotta stop or the list will be a mile long.. Second vote for Shawshank Redemption. Usual Suspects, Fracture, Arthur, and Cannonball Run for mindless escape, that or Wedding Crashers.

I'll try to be concise but I have "favorites" for various reasons: best story/plot, best casting/characterization, best looking (cinematography), best score/use of music etc...soooo, in no particular order:
The entire Back to the Future series 2001 and 2012 The ORIGINAL Star Wars trilogy (not that hideous prequel trilogy abortion) Star Trek II Wrath of Khan Star Trek IV The Abyss The Day The Earth Stood Still (original) Journey to the Center of the Earth (original) Galaxy Quest American History X The Illusionist The Time Machine (original) A Touch of Evil Run Silent, Run Deep South Pacific The Apartment Sneakers The Andromeda Strain (ORIGINAL!!) Colossus: The Forbin Project I've never seen a John Wayne film I didn't like There are many more, but that's a partial list of films I can watch any time and always get lost in them. |

Yeah, I know what you mean. Leaving out the Indy Jones trilogy, or anything directed by Peter Jackson, or any Clint Eastwood film (dir or acting)...all the Roger Corman/Vincent Price Poe adaptations...pretty much the entire Hammer Studios catalog or the entire Sean Connery Bond films wasn't an oversight; it was a space saving move.

Damn, add "Dawn Patrol", and "Robin Hood" to my list. Plus all those Cagney ensemble movies were pretty good, and Bogies' film noir' "Dead Reckoning " is sweet too. I love TCM :D I love the part in Dawn Patrol when the aviators get caught in the basement and Reagan says something like "C'mon you Krauts, give us a break" :lmao: "Some Like it Hot" makes my list too. |
Yep, I agree "the Shootist" was one of Wayne's best, I loved True Grit too though I only watched it to see Glen Campbell die.
