Best BEAT DOWN scene in a movie...

What are some of the greatest beat down/ass whoppin scenes in the movies?

I have my favorites but wont post them all so you guys have something to post.

Forgive me if this has been done. If so, keep it moving - nothing to see here.

My first submission is Gene Hackman as the sheriff in "Unforgiven". His beat down of English Bob (Richard Harris) is epic.

I have more but I check to you.

+1 on the hackman scene.
i'll nominate the dennis leary toaster scene from 'suicide kings'

yeah, that one was just disturbing though. ok i'll throw out one more and i'll shut up, it's gonna be hard to 'beat' this one, not that it's a competition. the "you insulted him a little bit" scene from 'goodfellas', the billy batts scene.

I enjoyed John Travolta's exit in The Punisher.

There was a french movie that I cannot remember the name of where two guys go apes&%t on a guy with a fire extinguisher. It was graphic but and kind of disturbing.

Shoot em up, never thought carrots could be so dangerous. The whole is a huge beat down.

Woodrow Call (Tommy Lee Jones) in "Lonesome Dove" busting up the Army scout on the street for whipping his men and son. A brutally realistic depiction of a man gone berserk with rage.

haha yes!! that one is awesome!!

my favorite one might be in Goodfellas. the scene where Jimmy Conway, Henry Hill, Tommy DeVito beat the crap out of Billy Bats. the whole scene, the conversation that leads to the argument that leads to the awesome beating that leads to the burying in the middle of nowhere.

best movie of all time. end of story. haha So GOOD!!!

For an older flick, Steven Segal's bar fight in "Out For Justice". Knocking out the ex cons teeth with a cue ball in a towel got me of the couch. Lately, Any fight scene in the "Bourne" Trilogy. A beat down with a magazine, Bic pen, Phone cord, Or just bare fist. The man makes 007 look tame. Eastwoods "Any Which Way You Can" Had a few good ass kick'n scenes also.

Stacy Keach in a bar fight in "the Ninth Configuration" (AKA Twinkle, Twinkle "Killer" Kane!) not for the squeemish

Cosmic 03-05-2009 06:25 PM

The film was hinted at earlier, regarding the fire extinguisher:
It's called "Irreversible." The scene has a nasty 'can't look away' quality, exactly as the director intended. It is very ugly and gruesome, not a 'movie-pretty' beating.

"Goodfellas" , when Pesci and Deniro kill Billy Batts.

cmb3366 03-05-2009 06:49 PM

How about the most gruesome movie beatdown?

The Cornfield scene at the end of Casino.

Danimal 03-06-2009 02:57 AM

These are all great Beat Down Scenes! The scenes I was saving have been posted. I honestly didn't think anyone would post the Mongo beat Down of the horse! (Good Pull SOTA!) instant classic!!!
