Favorite Christmas movie?
 

I was wondering if anyone had a favorite Christmas movie or show they like to watch this time of year.

My favorites are White Christmas and the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. They both remind me of my childhood.

I like both of those but we usually end up watching "A Christmas Story" on Christmas eve.

I'm fond of Terry Zwygoff's work, so the off-humor of "Badder Santa" with John Ritter, Bernie Mac and Billy Bob Thornton is a favorite...

Ok.....Christmas Vacation has topped my list since it came out. Bad Santa is in there now too.

Christmas Vacation is also my all-timer. We just watched a new (for us) oldie this year - Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck from '45. Great fun movie.

I have to give a second place for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

I still have the hots for Beverly D'Angelo.

Terry Pratchett's "Hogfather" is pretty awesome!

I have to throw in another vote for It's a Wonderful Life. Donna Reed in that movie...:drool: And needless to say, Jimmy Stewart is fantastic in it as well.

I dunno if its really a Christmas movie per se, but every time I've seen "The Best Years of our Lives" its been around this time of year.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and Scrooged. I love it when the Ghost of christmas present beats the hell out of Bill Murray. Also the guy from the New York Dolls plays a great part in it.

I'm a little late on this one, but my favorite is "The Ref" with Dennis Leary, Kevin Spacey and Judy Davis. It's a bit of a sleeper film - not too many people have seen it - but it's very funny. Btw, merry christmas and happy new year everyone.

I really like Christmas Vacation and the Preacher's Wife. They didn't show either movie on TV this year. They broadcasted ELF about 2000 times - but I would have liked more variety. :yes:

Grosse Point Blank. It is not Christmas movie, but Christmas is a good time to watch it. :D

But Elf has Zooey Deschanel in it, one of the few girls who is hot and cute at the same time! :naughty: But yea, it's a little corny, especially the end where singing saves everything. :rolleyes:

The best is Christmas Vacation, no doubt. Randy Quaid, lol!

Am I the only one who doesn't like A Christmas Story? It's so corny, sappy, filled with vulgar Americana culture (even if it makes fun of it), thinks it's just soo cute and precious and oh so clever and witty (as if a ten year old couldn't write it)...I can't take it! :yuck: I could watch an edited version of just the dad parts I guess though lol.
