Usually, they make 'em older, not newer...

if they saw color on that one, maybe it was 3-D too?

electroking 09-15-2008 09:04 PM

Well, there's a mahogany toned cabinet, green screen, brownish gray CRT bezel,
gold emblem on the controls door, lots of colors in fact...

old_tv_nut 09-15-2008 09:35 PM

Oh, Dear God....This is why I say only those of us who KNOW & CARE about these things should be allowed to have them...

It's a pleasing wrong, though... It somehow doesn't bother me as much as all those 1929 Philco Predictas that show up.

And those 'nearly 100 years old' superheterodyne radios with octal tubes.

That roundie Zenith "entertainment center" is probably fairly rare. It would have been rather expensive new, and by now there are a lot less of them existing.

You would at least think that if it was in working condition as they say they would know it wasn't a color set. Could this be a scammer of some sort? He hasn't answered any of my inquiries.

zenithfan1 09-18-2008 05:43 PM

He hasn't answered me either, watch out for this one. Maybe a few more people should try to get an answer from him, I'd be interested in what he has to say if he replies.

On the "color" set: No one is going to fall for that unless they are totally clueless about TV's. I mean, give me a freaking break! It's a B&W console from the '50's that he'd be wise to take whatever someone offers him.

Hey Mark,

If you like this set, I know where you can get one that's in better condition, AND it's much closer to you!
