"Pay, I say pay attention, son! I ain't talkin' just to hear my head roar!"
"That boy is so dumb he thinks the Mexican border pays rent."
"That boy is about as sharp as a sack of wet mice."
"Fortunately I keep my feathers numbered, for just such an occasion."
"I likes a slippery little old weasel."
"That boy reminds me of Paul Revere's ride; a little light in the belfry."

The Genie Of The Lamp, Voiced by Jim Backus:
"I'm here, I'm here. Let the bells ring and the banners fly. It's too good to be true, but I'm here, I'm here."
"Now you've made me simply furious!"

Marvin the Martian:
"I'm going to blow up the Earth. Isn't that lovely?"

Bugs Bunny:
"How about a nice close shave, teach your whiskers to behave,
Lot's of lather, lots of soap, please sit still don't be a dope,
Now we're ready for the scraping There's no use to try escaping
Yell and scream and rant and rave, It's no use, you need a shave!"
(Elmer Fudd: Ooh, ouch ouch ouch!)
"There, you're nice and clean, although your face looks like it might have gone through a machine."

This circa mid 1960's Bugs Bunny cartoon with dear little old Granny (you remember her as Tweety Bird's owner). This was the era that Warner Brothers changed up their animated drawing of background cartoon scenery that was not nearly as precise and accurately drawn as the previous generation of Looney Toons animation. It's kind of hard to explain but those of you who remember the background change will surely understand what I am talking about. It probably was cheaper to draw it this way for quicker Toon production. Personally, I liked the older method of drawing much better. All the Toon characters stayed the same between Warner Brother "eras".

Cartoon setting: London, England during the Victorian era (circa 1880's).

Granny is working as a job interviewer (or the like) in an employment agency. This is during the time that the real Jack the Ripper was alive and well traipsing about the Whitechapel area of London butchering prostitutes. So, in the cartoon, the blood-thirsty killer is not known as Jack the Ripper, but "The Shropshire Slasher". This guy was a huge oaf with a five o'clock shadow beard and an IQ of about 75.

Evidently the Slasher is down on his luck and drops by Granny's work place to interview for a job. Slasher nervously twists his hat tightly in his hands while trying to answer Granny's questions with a modicum of poise.

Granny: Name?
Guy: Shropshire Slasher

Granny: Occupation?
Guy: Shropshire Slasher

:D

I know exactly what you're talking about! Another excellent example of this is the wartime Tom & Jerry cartoons from MGM compared to those in the early 1950's and later. :yuck:

I remember those early T & J cartoons well. The background drawing was second to none at that time. Seems like most of the antics between Tom and his adversary occurred in the kitchen of the house that they lived in. The background detail (kitchen cupboards, appliances, etc.) as T & J raced by in the foreground was extraordinary. Of course, this can not be compared to today's computer-generated imagery (CGI) or anime. Great stuff though for a kid watching it in the early-to-mid 1960's on Saturday morning.

I did too. :thmbsp:
That huge low-IQ doofus of a baby buzzard/vulture flapping along slowly while singing that song still rings in my head.
I remember that episode where the mother buzzard/vulture kicks the baby doofus out of the nest and he goes on his great safari hunt for the elusive ba-by bum-ble bee? Priceless :D

Wasn't the second line in the song something like "My mom-ma's gon-na be so proud of me".

Yosemite Sam was a favorite. "The gol-durnest, rootin' tootinest so-and-so that ever strapped on a six-gun (or "shivered me timbers" or "dug a pan o'gold", etc.)".

I remember that Sam would be repeatedly screaming "WHOA!" while he was astraddle a runaway horse. When he tired of the horse ignoring his command to stop, he would club the horse with an anvil or some heavy object to knock out the animal. After the dust settled following the strike to the horse's head, Sam would utter exactly what FalconEddy posted above. :D:D

1942 and a deadpan Bug Bunny, after battling the nasty airplane gremlin and saving the Air Corps' newest bomber from crashing into the ground at 10,000 miles an hour, sez:

"air brakes."

That gremlin was the only character that ever got the best of Bugs.

And Mel Blanc was an artist of the first rank!

Dafffy (to Bugs) in front of Elmer:

That's one of their best! Daffy gets his beak blown off multiple times in that one, each time different.

This was from South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. Crude, but funny:

Mr. Garrison: "Well, your moms are just upset. They’re probably all on their periods or something."

Gregory:"Mr. Garrison, Wendy and I think that was a sexist statement."

Mr. Garrison: "Well, I’m sorry, Wendy. But I just don’t trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn’t die."
