How about May 2nd Ironman ????
|
I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan. This is way cool.
|
I've talked about the trailer and the new movie to a few people today and I love the way everyones eyes light up (in a good way, not the way the Nazis eyes lit up in Raiders of the Lost Ark....:) ). There is alot of excitement out there for this movie, hope it lives up to the billing....

A must see.

Indy Jones theme & Tiny Bubbles...
from a co-worker...
In music composition, it is common to take a melody and “invert” it according to the straight-forward mathematical algorithm detailed at the bottom of this message. A friend of mine, on a time crunch to write a fanfare and having no good ideas of his own decided to take the most popular fanfare at the time, the Indiana Jones main theme, and invert it. Steal only from the best, you know… For at least the first couple bars, he got Don Ho’s “Tiny Bubbles" RgnotesOut[0] = RgnotesIn[0]; Int i = 1; For i = 1 to RgnotesIn.length { RgnotesOut[i] = RgnotesIn[i] – (RgnotesIn[i]-RgnotesIn[i-1]); } In other words, when you’d go up a whole step to get to the next note in the original melody, go down a whole step instead. |
Indy's always a good time :thmbsp:

Can't wait to see it...
Glad Karen Allen is back... |
After paying full theater price to get hosed by Star Wars III: The Whimpering End To A Disastrous Prequel, I swore I'd never, ever see a movie in the theater again. However, seeing as how I'm such an Indy fan, I guess even vows are made to be occasionally broken and this is the one I'm breaking it with. Yeah. I'll be in the theater.

I am going to see it
Gohan |
i might have to go too

I will be going tomorrow for sure! I kinda want to go to a midnight showing tonight but I have to be up for work in the morning! Can't wait to see it!

This movie would have been good if not for the sheer ridiculousness of it all. It seemed more like an exaggerated parody of Indiana Jones than anything else. First time I go to the movies in a while and it's a big disappointment, shouldn't be surprised I guess. Almost all Hollywood movies these days seem to be either ADHD with action and special effects or cliche drenched in mellodramtic bs.

I am most happy she is back to close the franchise out. The middle two films were miserable excuses compared to the first in part because she was not in them. (Not to mention bad storyline, poor casting, turning Denholm Elliot into a boob, etc.) |

I'm going to force myself to enjoy it no matter what.

I saw, and wasnt impressed...

agreed, I was very disappointed. How did the script ever get the nod

Well, just got back from the early show. It was good! Not great, but mostly enjoyable with mind-numbing special effects and over-the-top chases and fights. Not enough real drama for my tastes, but overall fun.
They'll never be able to repeat the mystique of Raiders of the Lost Ark. After the first sequel I realized that. So now I just go along for the ride. The ending seemed to be Steven Spielberg's all the way. Don't want to give it away but I think it could have been better. The obvious 'New Indy' who looks like Bobby Darin, was pretty good. Didn't like his persona at first, but he kind of grows on you. Karen Allen, who was okay in the first movie, was okay in this one, too. I was kind of glad to see her back. Overall I'd give it 1-thumb and a pinkie up. But a must-see for Indiana Jones fans. Well now to turn my attention to the Indy 500! A day devoted to Indiana, what a coincidence...:D Rick |
My wife and I both liked the new one.Personally,I think all 4 movies in the series were over the top.Im really glad that theyve toned down the violence and gore in this one.And in this series it seems like Speilberg has always thought that manic and shrill equalled comedy, espescially in the second one, which was a lot worse than this one.
I would love to see another one with Ford and Lebouf. That would be a lot of fun. Jimmy |
Went last night and loved it. I noticed young people who hadn't grown up with the Jones movies weren't as taken as we were.
You guys who think it's over the top must have never watched any of the others I see. If you can't suspend belief for 1 1/2 hours and enjoy it for what it is you need a life :) Which is why they're called action movies. Any resemblance between them and actual events is completely accidental :) |
I guess "special effects" have taken the place of good acting, good scripts, good story line................

I saw it Sunday, and I write this as a 30-something who grew up on the original films, and loved them and got really geeky about them. The new one just felt lazy and soulless. In the other movies, I always knew the characters would survive..but I didn't sense that THEY knew it. Not this one. It just felt like they knew they'd get threw and just had to sit there and watch while they were transported to the end. I mean, at least before they had to try and they looked surprised when whatever they tried succeeded.
It wasn't terrible, and I liked the first half, then it just sort of seem to stop trying once they got into the jungle. I was happy to see Marion back, though. "Don't look at this movie Marion! Close your eyes! Don't look at it!" -j |

I still enjoyed it, though. But the ending? I dunno....:thumbsdn: |

Last Crusade was awesome. |
It was OK, nothing to rave about, but not sickening either. Nice couple of hours, but it was like watching all the action scenes from the 1st movie in a different setting, and nothing else. I love Indy too, however no plot here, just the action please.

I enjoyed the movie with my 5 year old daughter. She wants anything and everything to do with it now. She's just too cute.
We watched the marathons on Sci-Fi and USA the 2 weekends prior to its release here. I couldn't peel her away from the tv. In fact, I couldn't peel myself from the tv either.:D I picked up the soundtrack to the Crystal Skull today. Just love it.:thmbsp: Sound quality is excellent and lots of dynamics. Yee Haw!! Paul |

Very good sound quality |
I went to see a couple nights ago. It had its moments but I thought the "rumble in the jungle" was a bit long. Overall I liked it but it really did not "wow" me like the first and third ones. Good entertainment nonetheless.

How does the overall sound quality compare between the 1st and last soundtracks? Paul |
I saw it, I like it.....pretty much.
Have to face facts when it comes to bad guys, Russians pale vs. Nazis. Just no limit as to what you can dream up that they would have been involved in. |
Personally, I liked the first half or so....the "Tarzan Scene" really irked me, but the ending...oh my the ending....
would anyone care to join me on a crusade to stop Lucas from f@#$@# up any more movies? (EDIT: Or do we blame Spielberg?) |
