The Chronicles Of Sarah Connor - Who's Watching ?

Tonight at 8 a new show will be starting based on the Terminator movies. This show is based in a time line after T2 where sarah and jon are on the run. Im a huge terminator fan. It will be ran on A channel and fox. Season premiere will be this evening.

Snade 01-13-2008 10:21 AM

I've setup my Tivo to record it. The previews looked good. I read they only have 8 episodes because of the writers strike.

I'm looking forward to it.

OvenMaster 01-13-2008 11:10 AM

I'll be taping (yes, VHS) them to look at 'em when time permits.

Yup, I'm sitting here waiting right now...........................Guess I should find something else to do until it starts:lurk:

willyrover 01-13-2008 01:04 PM

Hadn't heard about it until I read this thread but I'll give it a watch.

Lena Heady who plays Sarah Connor doesn't look very promising in the preview. Linda Hamilton will be hard to match.

Jamison 01-13-2008 08:08 PM

she may be no linda hamilton but she is far more conviincing than michelle ryan was as the bionic woman. I liked the start... look foward to seeing part 2 tomorrow.

whyaskit 01-13-2008 08:44 PM

So far, nicely done.

Snade 01-13-2008 08:46 PM

I thought it kicked some serious butt. A lot of action and the new Sarah is better than Linda Hamilton.

Good TV.

We are two weeks behind on TV over here, I am still waiting, although now I am super excited hearing from y'all that it is good.

Luckyman 01-13-2008 10:22 PM

Definitely a lot of action. Should be good tomorrow night!

truetone36 01-13-2008 10:44 PM

Watching it as I type this. So far, it's good.

Dumont-First with the finest in television.

6thumbs 01-14-2008 12:02 AM

I thought it was pretty decent

Unican_Eric 01-14-2008 12:25 AM

I really enjoyed it. Got the DVR set up to record again Monday night.

I think I have a new show to watch.

The female protector Terminator is pretty good looking as well. Although she seems a little stiff in the acting department. Must be an unknown.

riffer 01-14-2008 08:35 AM

Nice looking girls, other than that, I wasn't impressed.

Your kidding right? Ever see Firefly/Serenity/The Unit/The 4400? Summer Glau is a big SF cult favorite and probably the main reason many watched the show (including me):

rickr15 01-14-2008 09:00 AM

I'll be watching the rest of this series. If it stays as good as the first one they may have something.

Jack Lord 01-14-2008 09:37 AM

It was pretty good. Serious baborama....<pant, pant>

My daughter wanted to watch it because Summer Glau is in it, so I sat and watched with her. Summer was great, the new Sarah was great, the new John came across as a a wimp, the action scene jump cuts and shakey cam gave me a headache.

I wasn't impressed.

SPL db 01-14-2008 11:45 AM

I'll have to check into this one!

Very hot in The Unit.

winters860 01-14-2008 01:28 PM

The pace and amount of action distracted from the awful cinematography and cornball plot. Plot seems to center on the struggle between the smokin' hot Sarah Connor and even smokiner Cameron terminator (who... I... can't... take... my... eyes... off...) for the affections of John Connor. Enough oedipal weirdness to sink a ship, but we'll see where it goes.

Parnelly 01-14-2008 02:47 PM

Well its not expected to be action packed due to budget size being considerably less then motion picture productions. So far i thought the show was decent. IMO this new sarah is jamless compared to linda hamiltons acting in T2. But i like most anything terminator so this has little affect on my impression of the show. Jon does seem sligtly emo, which also im not concerned about. All in all not a bad show for cable television.

Parnelly 01-14-2008 02:49 PM

Sure as hell beats the flood of boring and endless sea of reality shows.

Fran604g 01-14-2008 02:49 PM

Hmmmm, apparently I havent. I stand corrected. I guess thats her acting style. I shall have to pay more attention.

Well...she does play a robot after all and I doubt many are really watching her acting anyway.

And is her name pronounced "Summer Glow"? Because if it is, that's incredibly unfortunate.

riffer 01-15-2008 03:48 PM

Watched the second episode. Much better. Looks like I will have something to watch Monday until 24 starts up again.

gearhound 01-15-2008 04:30 PM

Sucked big-time IMO.
The only "acting" will be when they say the deserved their paychecks.

:yes::thmbsp:

I enjoyed the first episode last night and will watch the second tonight. I thought 24 was cancelled for the season due to Kiefers off screen problems coupled with the writers strike?

willyrover 01-15-2008 05:30 PM

After the second episode...I've more or less lost interest. It really doesn't seem to be going anywhere and the new "Sarah Connor" bores the crap out of me. She just doesn't have the undertones of "I'm one step away from going INSANE and ripping your head off" that Linda Hamilton did.

Tapehead47 01-15-2008 05:39 PM

Watched about 15 minutes and switched to 'Cops'.

prisoners 01-15-2008 07:10 PM

I liked it a lot. There is a real risk of damaging the "Terminator" franchise so kudos to the people for the effort. Looking forward to next week.

Oh the pain of a stellar cancelled series.

The second episode was not very good, the writing seemed average.

I may watch it again, but I'm not recommending it.

The son is a wimp and needs to toughen up if he is going to save all of our lives.

Tapehead47 01-15-2008 08:56 PM

I seriously get lost into the Terminator movies, but the TeeVee version just didn't grab me. I missed the first episode thinking it was Monday nite. Oh well. I've got patience. But like 'Lost' and '24', if you miss an episode you might as well forget about it. And I do that a lot!

I'm really lame when it comes to scheduling my TeeVee viewing.

Ouch, that's a low blow. :D

Tapehead47 01-15-2008 09:27 PM

Not meant to be below the belt...

I missed the Sunday episode, thinking the first one would be Monday nite. I am a huge fan of the Terminator movies. Fantastic escapism! I guess my 13" TeeVee just don't get it, even though I have big-time 2ch sound hooked up.

The first movie was Sci-Fi at it's best. The following were just as good. Classic Sci-Fi without any doubt! No low blow intended!

Rick

Jack G 01-16-2008 10:10 AM

The Sunday episode was good, the Monday episode was OK. It has potential, even if it doesn't have a big budget. They are going to have to have more variety to the action/fight scenes though. The previews for next week looked interesting. We'll see how it goes.

I thought it was mediocre at best.

Scale of 1 to 10

Firefly - 10

The Chronicles Of Sarah Connor - 3

I believe they managed to complete about half the season, but they wanted to hold back until they could complete the rest and run everything at once.
