Thats a shame.I loved the Tomorrow Show when I was a kid.I always felt like I was privy to some secret,adults only information when I watched his show.I liked that he always tried to be genuinely interested in what they had to say,and would often call a guest on just showing up and mailing in the interview to shill some product.
Does anyone remember the show back in '79,when he had that asshole DJ on who held the Disco record buring after a baseball game?The guy comes on,and he's sitting there with Meatloaf,trying to force him to break a copy of Bad Girls(Donna Summer)?Meatloaf refused to break any records,saying he did "Hair" in Germany with her.I gained a whole new respect for Meatloaf,even if I dont care much for his music.

I loved his radio show. It was amazing. He was an excellent interviewer and I loved the guests he had on. He touched my life and will be missed by many.

Watched his late night show in the 70's every night. He was smart and entertaining. A real original. Sorry to hear about this.

I used to watch his show nearly every night. He did great interviews. I remeber when Dan Akroyd started doing his impression on SNL and Snider had him as a guest doing sort of a dualing Snider.

I too enjoyed his wit as a teenager and would look forward to the show after the Tonight Show.

I guess we are all getting older!

Great interviews while he smoked like a chimney. I will never forget the one with Charles Manson. He kept saying, "Get off the space shuttle Charles" or something like that.

Tom Snyder on the Tomorrow show was the reason I bought my first VCR in Feb 1978. RIP.

I would have bought one a glass of kool-ade, and the other a kick in the ass.

Another one of those unique individuals who basically told the world to fuck off, I'm doing it the way I want to do it.

He got high. He refers to them as "The Dead".

When he laughed during an interview, it was clear he was genuinely amused, not just being polite. No guest ever went on the Tomorrow show expecting to be coddled. We could use a replacement, methinks. RIP

I didn't watch him too much, it was usually past my bedtime.
I do remember him talking to Ralph Bakshi & telling him to quit picking his nose on camera.
I thought he was a pretty hip guy for somebody close to my dad's age.

I enjoyed him on TV and radio. One night on his radio show he was interviewing Leon Redbone. Leon kept giving 1 or 2 word answers and Tom, not too politely, laid into him. I had never heard a talk show host belittle a guest like that. Leon straightened up and it was a pretty good show.

Snyder was a terrific antidote to most everything else at the time. I had started coming to the US on vacation in '75 and I got really hooked on his show. His mannerisms, the machine-gun laugh, the smoking, the weird remarks...all so Non-Carson.

Apart from his all-time classic with Manson, the interview I always remember is the one with Sterling Hayden. Hayden had a full beard at the time and was talking about living on a boat, reminiscing as if the camera was not there at all. He talked about smoking pot, his view on life, and Snyder just let it roll, appreciating his words. That's interviewing, not just pushing the ad time.

Wherever he is, I hope he's had a colortini and is watching our messages flying through the air.
