Worst movies

not stupid comedies and the like, not boring ones, and NO sequels....

The Legend of Billie Jean--1985
When Time Ran Out--1980
House of Sand and Fog--2003
Double Jeopardy--1999
Upside of Anger--2005

You will pull your hair out viewing any one of the above..

Doctordirt 07-06-2007 07:40 PM

This could go on forever...... I vote for anything with a girl named Tweed in it.

And Gigli

Oh come on you loved Hot Dog and you know it. :D

JBL 4645 07-06-2007 08:06 PM

I rather enjoined “When Time Ran Out” (1980) with Paul Newman and William Holden who both where in The Towering Inferno (1974).

As for my worst film I love sorry like "Catwoman" (2004), go on lets hear you say I know its on the tip of your tongue.:D

OvenMaster 07-06-2007 08:16 PM

Lots of people hated "Daredevil", but I didn't. Then again, I'm a sucker for comics brought to the screen.
Tom

Sandy G 07-06-2007 08:48 PM

"The Evil Dead". Went to see it 'cause it was filmed here in E.Tennessee, ran out of the theater 'cause it was so DREADFUL...

gearhead 07-06-2007 09:30 PM

No sequels?
So I can't mention Caddyshack 2?
Darn the luck.

Filmboydoug 07-06-2007 10:12 PM

Magnolia - so bad it made me angry. Still does if I think about it.
The Avengers - most dissapointing
Twilight - possibly the most boring plodding yawn inducing film ever
Northfork - Hey look! Were making art!

Damn. Even with the Aimee Mann soundtrack? :(
Tom

gearhound 07-07-2007 05:21 AM

The Garden Of The Finzi Continis:

4 hours long of being bored to death !!!!!
NASA will use this film to put astronauts to sleep for deep space flights.

Steve

fotno 07-07-2007 06:24 AM

Any Kung-Fu movie made with imitation Bruce Lee... e.g. Bruce Li, Bruce Le, Bruce Lei.

As good as the music was, this movie is still destined, I feel, to one day have it's own wing in the Hall Of Suckitude.

Tom Brennan 07-07-2007 08:42 AM

Casablanca. I'm serious.

jonman 07-07-2007 08:59 AM

On Golden Pond

Andyman 07-07-2007 09:05 AM

FWIW, I had a really hard time with "The Good Shepard" recently; just never drew me in. Kept waiting for something engaging; never happened.

Also, I've always had a hard time with "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Some folks rave about Lazenby as being true to Flemings Bond, but the direction just seemed too dated, wooden, and stilted to me, as did some of the sets and costumes.

Tom Brennan 07-07-2007 09:54 AM

"Kept waiting for something engaging; never happened."

My thoughts too. I'm willing to give the picture another shot though, I'll try it again.

Sandy G 07-07-2007 09:57 AM

"The legend of Billie Jean"-A great, portentious movie about one young woman's struggle for justice. Or a overblown story about-WTF was it all about, anyway? I remember it was one of those movies HBO got in a rut playing-seemingly EVERY TIME I turned on HBO, there it was. Maybe one reason I DON'T have HBO anymore.

Nothing has changed at HBO. :D Billie Jean AKA "Fair is fair". "We want our 812 dollars back Mr. Piatt!"

Good call on who mentioned Magnolia. Absolutely excruciating.

Sandy G 07-07-2007 10:22 AM

They were either playin' it, or runnin' an ad for it-"We will be INVINCIBLE !!!!" You wonder if the actors who played in turkeys like that get embarrassed by them. Wonder if Elisabeth Berkeley gets tired of people askin' her, "Hey, Nome' ! Know me ? Hahahaha ! Howzit feel to have yr career in the tank, Jessie ?"

rickr15 07-07-2007 11:50 AM

Worst ever is Titanic . Can't say why as some might not have seen it yet.

Second on Gigli.
How is it that Hollywood thinks they can just put a couple of big names on the marquee and people will watch?
No matter how bad it is.

Eric H 07-07-2007 01:36 PM

Yeah, Gigli was AWFUL, one of the few movies I couldn't finish, shut it off after about 20 minutes.
MST3K couldn't save that one.

jonman 07-07-2007 01:56 PM

One I rented recently that really sucked was called either White Trash, or Trailer park Trash and starred that blonde from My Name Is Earl.

Holst 07-07-2007 07:42 PM

Another vote for "When time ran out"..

Disney's "The Black Hole".

Right here, never seen it, & no plans to.

Spoil away!

soundmotor 07-09-2007 08:57 PM

I'll go -

Hudson Hawk, 1991

I have been told I am a complete Philistine for not appreciating this one. However, someone I trust greatly (my wife) saw it with me and she too rings in the same way. It is my #1 worst film ever. When I am Supreme Ruler of the Earth I will destroy all copies and expunge any record of it.

Sansui Louie 07-12-2007 10:18 AM

"Ishtar"
"Dirty Dancing"
"Evita"
and anything with Jean Claude Goddamn

Tom Brennan 07-12-2007 03:57 PM

I think that picture where that Jean Claude fella is in the Foreign Legion in Morocco after the Great War was pretty decent: "Legionaire".

Sandy G 07-12-2007 04:11 PM

There was one where Ahhnult played a US Army sergeant-"Come on, guys !! Let's get za Chermennz.." Uhh, yeah, right... If they ever remake Stalag 17, Ahhnult oughta be Der Kommandant...

Hyperion 07-12-2007 04:14 PM

I'll vote for any "Hellboy" movie... (mindless drivel)

Alternatively how does "The Attack of the 50' Woman" grab you??

Tom Brennan 07-12-2007 04:35 PM

I loved Otto Preminger in that role. Remember how he buttoned his blouse and put on his boots to take a phone call from a superior? Very German.

Holst 07-12-2007 06:04 PM

Xanadu

Dusty Chalk 07-13-2007 12:38 AM

I've heard bad things about, but never saw:

Gigli
Battleifield Earth
Catwoman ("...let's put it this way: Halle Berry in a skin-tight catsuit couldn't save it...")

Did see, and hated:

Weather Man -- you know it's bad when a sex scene can't save it (the Oktoberfest gal)
Eragon -- coulda been written by a computer, or a committee
Ghost Rider -- ditto

Tom Brennan 07-13-2007 11:33 AM

I liked Battlefield Earth. Yeah, it was stupid but it was fun.

rickr15 07-13-2007 11:42 AM

I have to retract my prior worst movie. I was watching late night cable the other day and came across what has to be the worst movie ever made.
"Cabin Boy" with Cris Elliot.

To F-ing lame for words.

Sndsrtaud 07-13-2007 02:45 PM

The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (or whatever), POTC Part 2 (ain't going to see part 3), Brosnan Bond flicks,

Dusty Chalk 07-13-2007 06:25 PM

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was excellent! I mean, how many movies are you going to get with Kirsten Dunst jumping up and down on a bed in her skivvies? And that wasn't even the best part...

theophile 07-13-2007 07:44 PM

Independence Day.
Oh yeah, all the Rocky and Rambo movies

Pete Deksnis 07-16-2007 08:51 AM

Movie-house walkouts.

Jailhouse Rock, when was first run.

theophile 07-16-2007 08:56 AM

Jailhouse Rock was excellent compared to 'Clambake'

:music:'Do the clam...Do the clam....':music: :yuck: :puke: :screwy:

slow_jazz 07-16-2007 09:24 AM

I would have to agree with Cabin Boy... Just awful.....
