Damn, just pulled my NOS rebuilt 21FJBP22 out of the closet where it's been sitting for the last year, only to find that it had been bumped against something and damaged :eek:

The tube is intact but the safety screen is cracked.
There is a clear point of impact right on the edge of the safety glass, the cracks radiate out in a circle 3/4s of the way around, plus a few other stress cracks around the edge, it looks scary.

I guess I'm going to have to remove it, not something I wanted to try.
The section that is cracked has already started to delaminate itself so maybe it won't be too tough.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi Eric, I saw your post and had a thought and not sure if possible. You may want to look into the epoxy repairs like can be
done like to auto safety glass. It sure works great on the repairs I've seen done.

that works for small star or chips but sounds like this it too far gone.
its easy to swap the lens from a dud.
