Here's one that you just don't see... And blonde too! I had one of these in mahogany about 20 years ago, and never have seen another until this one on eBay:

Has a 14" tube, and a 45-rpm changer under the lid...
Should be grabbed!

Lemme ax a question-Why do a lot of '50s era TVs have what looks like smoke on the top part of the CRT face as this one does? Is it just a natural by-product of 50 years worth of hot tubes, disintegrating wax caps, etc? Is it dirt, & therefore of no real consequence? Inquiring minds & all, you know...

typically dirt attracted by the static charge of the CRT, behind the separate safety glass, I think.

Just dirt in the air that gets attracted by the HV. Few people go through the effort to remove the front glass to clean it off. Accumulation is much more evident in sets that have been around heavy smokers, some sets look as though they've caught fire.

I have one of these in Mahogany. The TV works well, but has the yoke with the plastic that falls apart as is common in many 1950s TVs.

I've seen a few of these pass through eBay, not recently though, always go high too.
The goo on this one looks like cigarette tar. :beatnik:

the text of the ad makes me sad.
"he knows his standing and reputation depend upon the care and thoroughness with which he services your community's radio and television sets." ..............
i wish I lived in an era like that..
