I just think it is a really cool set. I would get it but I can't.
Maybe it's a remote?

I'm guessing remote set by the thing in the lower left corner. Looks like the US pickup. Probably around 60-63. Not a bad lookin set.

This TV was likely made in the early sixties, before 1964, as it is VHF only. I'd put it in the vintage category for this reason; it's a bit short of being an antique. The set is genuine Magnavox, made by the original Magnavox Company of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The hole at the lower left corner of the cabinet could be for a remote transducer; however, it could also have a photocell recessed in it, for automatic brightness and contrast control. Difficult to tell from this distance, though, without actually seeing the TV up close.

I was tempted to bid on that set the first time around. It is a relisting. The wood cabinet, separate safety glass and the rather ornate tuning knob give this set a high end look. It looks to be a 17 inch screen. That would be a set well worth getting and preserving. If it turns out to be handwired (no tubes on pc boards), you could use it as a daily watcher.
