I recall last week or so there was a 21FB22A listed on e-bay. The tube was either NIB or rebuilt. There were no takers. I see that there are already multiple bidders on the 21CY. I know the 21CY is tougher to find. But why no takers for the 21FB?:dunno:

i also have a new in the box 21cyp22 and a new rca 21gup22a both which checks excellent.
i believe these are a better investment than the stock market.

is the "challenger"name a rebuild from channel master a few years ago..?
i think this is correct..(the one listed on e-bay).
which brings up the orangish phosphor thing,charlies set has the 21cyp22A which looks very "red",interesting to see who has a set with a 21cyp22..(not the "A" version)..

I don't think Challenger is associated with them, sounds like an independent brand.

My 7 has the 21CYP22 but I don't know if it's an "A" or not?
And since it barely has a picture, much less color, I don't know what it looks like :(

ok guys.. here is an interesting question.
what is the purpose of the 2 anode connectors on this tube?
my ctc-7 does not have the original 21cyp22,so..

Terry, mine has the CYP so I can tell you that there is a resistor and spring that hooks from one anode to the other.

Apparently there is the main connector that goes to the Dag coating on the inside of the bell just like every other CRT, the second connector seems to go to the front of the tube, possibly the shadow mask?
Maybe it gives the beam a little more kick before it strikes the Phosphor?

from what i have learned and been told it is for arcing protection.
when you replace the cyp with a fjp you are supposed to add a capacitor in the 6bk4 regulator for protection since the tube has not got the resistor for arc protection. this is also mentioned in a couple of books i have. steve:uzi:
