If anyone on this board is able & willing, perhaps they could read the sign for us and send a letter to that address in the proper Chinese dialect? The people probably just don't feel like hoisting the roundie into the dumpster, or having to buy a new table for the other TV.

I'm pretty sure the sign in the window says "Yip Yu" (transliterating the sound from Cantonese), which translates as "Part Time". Not sure what they mean by it in this context.

As you can see, it's had a long and smoky life. The room was still full of people smoking, despite smoking in a public building being illegal in CA. I guess it might technically be a private building.

Way to work a deal sir. :thmbsp:

On a side note, though... Every time I'm in San Fran there seems to be no problem smoking about anywhere. The social establishments I've frequented simply specify (after about 10 pm) that there be no ashtrays. Put yer butt in a bottle. If they don't enable, it ain't their fault! (so the thinking goes...) :D

Strangely enough I haven't experienced this in LA.

p.s. I'm glad I won't be around when you hit that chassis with air!

Andy,

That's a great find and a wonderful bit of detective work. This model originally had legs. Are they around somewhere? It also looks like this set has remote control. Is that a remote sensor above the color/tint controls?

Looks much better than when you first dragged it in Andy. Hope my CTC-16 can produce a decent picture like that when i can get around to it.

Nice job Andy! The picture is so sharp that you can even see the scan lines. My combo has the same tv in it and hope mine will play as well as yours when i'm done with it.
