The tube looks fine to me except for one little bad spot in the middle. :D

I was going to start a thread on this one to ask what would cause the spot. So, just what happened there, do you think?

The neck is broken, and when the air and glass rushed in it removed some phosphor from the screen. At least thats what it looks like.

Yeah, that has definitely lost vacuum - that's typically what they look like when the neck gets broken.

I think the vacuum slowly leaked out. Good thing too, as too much vacuum getting into the air in the room too fast can be dangerous. Picture tubes have been known to blow up. NASA has to exercise great care when sending astronauts in space to keep the vacuum up there from gettiing into the spacecraft.
