A few of you may remember about a year ago, I posted photos of the little wooden model I made of a CT-100 in this thread (http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=36573) .
Well, its time for another one, this time it is a model of my favorite set in my collection, this little RCA 14" portable, which is actually a Canadian built set.

This one is made of three solid pieces of wood glued together, since I didn't have any wood thick enough to make it out of one piece. Though it is harder to see in the pictures, that hardest part of this was carving out the screen so that it would leave the mask around up, and end up with a curved surface for the screen.

When I took the pictures of the model and the real set together, I realized that the model doesn't really look as much as like the real set as I had hoped, the corners are too rounded, and the mask on the real set pops out a lot more at the top than at the bottom. But I still think it looks cool, and these are working well to improve my woodworking ability.

Enjoy!

...I also managed to make a model of my 1937 Philco 37-610 "bullet" radio which may turn up soon over in the radios fourm...
