I saw this on Ebay, and it LOOKS like a PS chassis, from an rca TV, perhaps a TRK or maybe a projo from '48-49. Maybe not. Perhaps someone else knows!!

I believe this is the LV power supply from one of the RCA projection sets, 9PC41, 648PTK and the like.

You are correct, Sir...
I had Mr Poster ship me the 3-chassis set I won on eBay in '04, hope I didn't out-bid anyone I've met here...now if I could find another optical barrel assembly, mine's toast
(rodentus urinarius corrosivum).

Chuck is (as uaual) correct. And the same seller also has the RCA audio amp. chassis that was used i n the projection sets (ans elsewhere?).

The 648PV had the tuner-phono assembly that was also sold as a stand-alone HI-FI console, again using a different-sufixed version of the amp chassis mentioned in this thread.

P.S. I contacted the seller, sadly, he does not have any other pieces to this TV.

I know where there's a 648-PV that probably could be had for little or nothing. It has all of the chassis and barrel, but is missing the BIG radio & phono chassis. Some boob put creosote all over the cabinet, and it STINKS. That's why the owner doesn't want it.

Hi Charles
Two silly questions.
Is it still really gooey? :yuck:
Is it along the I-5 corridor?

I wouldn't say it's still gooey, just smelly if in a closed room. And I don't know how you'd get that stuff off the wood... (I-5 corridor); Basically yes; it's in Encino near the 405 & 101 Freeways. If you are interested, send me an eMail and I will give you the owner's number...

CREOSOTE ? Are you sure ?

Why On Earth ? I know it's used on power line poles to preserve them , but a cabinet
which hopefully doesn't spend more than 20 minutes of its' life outdoors ?

ODD!
