Hi Gang,
I'm the one that ended up with the 1969 Zenith floormodel color tv on ebay from PA mentioned in another thread that i now cant locate. After getting it home i managed to get it presentable both cosmetically and as far as playing. The only problem i have with it now is that the convergence wont adjust on either the right or left side except for the blue. Top and bottom adjust fine. This is the model that the adjustments for the convergence are behind the speaker grill on the front. The chassis number is 16Z7C50ZW and the model number is Z4541-5. Its the model with power tuning but no space command. I would appreciate any input to help get the picture how it should be on this one as otherwise it has a great picture and sound as most Zenith's do. Heres a before ebay pic of it and will be posting the after pic once it get it straightened out.

Tony, you need to do the static convergence before you can do the dynamic convergence.
The static controls are on the neck of the crt. THe dynamic ones are the controls behind the speaker. I assume you already have the crosshatch pattern to do the convergence, so here we go:
turn off the color and turn down the blue gun until the screen as amber. With a mirror in front of the set, slowly adjust the red and green statics until they converge on a point in the MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN. the red and green move at angles.
After converging red and green, turn the blue back up until the screen is a uniform gray. Adjust the blue static to move the blue line(s) up and down. use the blue lateral maginet (not the rings, that's for purity) to move the blue lines side to side. Converge the blue on top of the red and green to make white. again, converge everyhting IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN
After statics, comes dynamic convergence. I would converge the red/green first because its more difficult to do blue first. order should be top, bottom, left, right Horizontal, then repeat on the verticle adjustments. use a non-magnetic, non metallic hex tool on the right side slug controls or the electrical effects will destroy them
Then perform the blue adjustments. THere will only be verticle adjustments on the blue for top bottom left and right. THe left and right adjustments will bow a little bit. You will not be able to adjust them in completely, its just a defect of the delta-gun design. Again, use a non-magnetic, non-metallic tool on the right side slug.
After converging blue on red and green, step back about 4 feet and look over your work. Please note that there will be some imperfections in corners or around the edge of the screen. The idea is to get uniform convergence. You won't be able to achieve perfection.

Thanks for the advice but i had already performed the static and dynamic convergence with my cross hatch generator. The problem is that the red/green adjustments for the left and right parts of the screen dont function at all so theres no way in its current state to adjust for it either horizontal or vertical. The blue adjustments for the sides work fine. The top, bottom and center converged perfect and the yoke and convergence magnets are in proper position on neck of the picture tube. Purity and white balance are fine also. I suspect the convergence board is faulty and if so i will need one as i have no Zenith parts here. I also remember someone having similar problem but it was because they lost voltage somewhere. I just want to see if you guys had a good place for me to start first. I dont have a schematic for this set by the way. I understand there will be some misconvergence with the older delta's but the error on the sides is close to a half inch in its effort to make a white line...mainly with the horizontal part of the adjustment. The misconvergence is mainly noticed on the first three inches of both sides of the screen and the lines are green, blue and then red with an eighth inch gap between them almost. I'll try to post a picture of it if this is still confusing to everybody.

I started work on a 19EC45 a few monts ago. Haven't had time since. Anyway, the few electrolytic caps I did check were either open or lost a large portion of their capacitance. Replace all electrolytics first.

Check the connector where the convergence module plugs into the chassis. If there is any corrosion, that may account for your problems.
