As result of the passion expressed by some of you to my protagnanistic post blaming TV collectors for being out of touch with reality(of which i sincerly apologise), I have now an official modest TV collection. I Already had two 80's Trinitrons( 15 and 17"'s), 1 80's Mitsu 13", 1 portable Panasonic AC/DC B & W and AM/FM 5", and one portable Sony 9"(or 12") AC/DC color unit. Pictures forthcoming. This is in addition to my two 1.5" picture tube portable Panasonics and my Sony Sportsman "waterproof"yellow handheld TV. What do you think of the old big azz 26" Sony trinitron consoles? Ive seen some with perfect color not too long ago. Thanks for not banning me and helping me see how cool old 70's/80's TV's are!

I personally like Trinitrons, not so much from their track record of troubles ,but with their picture quality.I've always wanted one of their consoles, especially the ones with pecan veneer.I'm constantly on the hunt for one, whether it be a 25,26,27 or 32 inch model.Love the look of a piece of furniture with a tv in it.Minor downside to consoles is the fact that, when watching a program, you're actually looking down and that can cause neck strain over extended periods of time.Rule of thumb is the center of the screen should be at eye level, typically 32" from the floor.I would guess that most consoles are probably no more than 20" from the floor to the center of the screen.Upside,IMO,is the warm, homey look and feel these sets evoke.

Both of these are spoofs, right? Why no picture of a burning tv?

Introduce him to Kaitsu. They might like each other. No one else likes them

Here is the picture of the tv that jerk was burning.
It must have been lost when the server crashed.
Don't ask why I would still have this picture.

THAT made me mad/sad, but remember the TV show on "Secret Life of Machines" when they burned that whole wall of TVs? I kinda thought that was cool... But none of them were really all that old, IIRC...
