It's the audio amp chassis and speaker that's missing. Wouldn't be too hard to make an amp and speaker fit in there if you dodn't mind having an non-original TV.

I think it's also the low voltage PS. It's a common enough set that finding the chassis isn't out of the question. If it were local I'd have to go for it.

I had one of those, the chassis was really damaged and I finally just decided to keep it for parts, and I had gotten a empty cabinet seperately (the one I was trying to give away a while back), I was also missing that 2nd chassis (it is both the audio amp and the power supply). The power supply is unusual it is as if it had 2 seperate supplies, but uses only one trans. then 2 rectifier tubes (not in parallel like the Westinghouse, but comming off 2 seperate coils in the transformer) a 5U4 and a 6X5, the 5U4 section is supposed to output 350v and the 6X5 section 155v, when I was trying to make one I couldn't find a transformer that would work and finally had to use two seperate ones.

I have attached a photo of the rear of the identical set showing the missing supply. I also think I have a spare supply around here. If someone is interested in bidding on the set let me know and I'll check for sure.

Or you could install a newer version of the main chassis with the power supply and audio all in one... Bolts right in! Anything up to 20X1 should bolt in.

It looks like they changed the power supply in the 30 chassis to actually have 2 transformers, the power supply I was talking about above was from a 20A1, I just looked up the schematic for the 30A1 and it does use two trans. and a 5U4 and a 5Y3 not a 6X5.

Hi. Actually I have that model. The one last shown with pw supply in bottom is a different model. That one uses 2 power transformers. It uses 1 power transformer. Tapped hv winding. Correct output voltages are 380 v for tv, and 300 v for amplifier. By the time voltage gets to audio out it is closer to 290 v, and 185 v for 6sq7 pre-amp. I had to replace fried pwr transformer on mine. I was fortunate to find a new old stock Thordarson recoommended replacement for it. I think the one on e-bay is pricy. And, where would you get proper plug with correct connections to tv chassis? That transformer feeds everything including fil voltages to tv. Set's worth fixing, but, too expensive. To give you an idea, last year I won mine on ebay for a whopping 12.00.... Oh, it's likely worth more than that, but, Not alot of people seem to want that, though it is still the usual Admiral quality, and I think the atraction is the fact that it is such a small set for a console tv. 10" picture. Just a neat set, in my opinion......
