As of this afternoon, I'm the proud owner of a Emerson Model 1146 ac/dc t.v. set. Does anyone have any info on what year this set was made? This is the first set I've been able to buy on ebay that didn't cost me an arm or leg. I won it for the princely sum of $3.00! Any info would be appreciated.

According to Sams it was made in 1955.

Is that the one with the top lid that flips up to revel the controls? I think that was the first AD/DC TV set.

I picked one of these up real cheap at a flea market. It was stuck in a big pile & I started to walk on as I thought it was just a cheap phonograph. Then I saw the screen...

The set arrived today from North Dakota. When powered up there's nothing but some static and a loud capacitor hum, so I'll have to recap it. Does anyone uot there have a Sams for this model?
