We went to an estate sale last weekend and found a Capehart 24" b/w set. This was the estate of an old time TV/electronics man and he still had his old TRS-80 computer hooked up, had washing machine solenoids still plugged into timers to run the sprinklers, there was wind-driven alternators, etc. It's kind of sad to see someone's collection just abandoned but still hooked up like that, but we were able to save a lot of it.

Here is our story of the set with more pictures. This is a heavy-duty set with 2 5U4's and 6CD6GA horiz tube, CRT works but of course will need new caps:

It is sad to come across an estate like that. I've seen a few. Thats us someday! Yeah, thats me, I want to die as a "jack of all trades".

Did Capehart (or whoever owned the name) build this set, or is it something like a Wells-Gardner? I have a prewar Capehart console radio that is built like a tank but I think from there they v-e-r-y slowly went downhill. Good to see this one is still well built.
