Hello all, Can someone tell me how to increase the brightness on this Sony FD-10. The contrast is good and I looked inside for a trim pot and can not find one. Actually I found about five trim pots. But none for brightness or brightness range. I found vert. lin and focus but no brightness. Maybe someone knows where I could look at a schematic. Thanks.
Richard.

Richard, I could swear I saw some replies to this question!
Someone suggested it was accessable through the battery compartment or inside a metal shield or something.
Did you post this question to the Antique Radio Forum as well? maybe I saw it there.

I admit to having worked on a few Watchman TVs. the ones I worked on all used a flourescent for a backlight. I don't think you could get more brightness out of it unless you modified the power supply for the flourescent tube in some way for higher voltage.

Thank You Dr. Audio, This is one of the models with a real CRT, although the phospher layer is on the back of the tube and you are actually looking through the invisible electron beam scanning back and forth. Pretty neat technology for the early 1980s or late 1970s. Regards,
Richard.
