Is that really a 1941 model...something about it seems like a late 40's model, I thought that the pre-war models were either the smaller 5" or so screen, or the vertical CRT type with mirror.

I thought Eyewithness synch came out with the 630, and Golden Throat was post war, too...

I'd pin the date more like '47 or '48. I bet if you ask, it's got chhannels 2 - 13...

Is it me or can you see the back of the set through the screen? ETF has one and his is a 1948 set. Believe it is a 10" set.

I believe the seller knows full well that it's a post war set. The clue that he knows better is his decision not to list it under "Televisions, Vintage Electronics" where those who certainly know better would see it. By listing it as furniture he's hoping to scam a neophyte with more dollars than sense.

I e-mailed the guy. It's definately a 630TS or 8TS30 chassis. I can tell just by the location of the knobs. Even $1500 is too much. This guy is a rip off and I told him that. Only valuable part of this set is the 10BP4 if in good condition. What a stupid idiot!

I know where one is, that I can get for FREE. Also, this weekend, I got a 9t246 RCA, a '49 model, for.................... $5. NOT 5,000 but $5!!!!!!!!!!

I'm tripping over these damn things at my place (got two or three of them -- what was I thinking?) But if you read carefully, THIS ONE has a UL label!!!

:thmbsp: You're right, guys. Tube has air in it. I also saw what appeared to be back of set. It is a 1948 set, and fairly common. It uses KCS 28 chassis. As for 9T245, I like them. Need an original stand for mine. Also, a big favorite of mine is a set I just traded for. Tim traded me a 1949 RCA 9T270 16" table top tv that originally came from factory in oak. Some idiot painted it pink! I'm in process of stipping case now. I saww all the evidence that it was originally finnished in oak. My other big favorite is a 1946 641tv RCA Victor tv, radio, phonograph I own in a blonde manoganny case. I'm in middle of restoring that one. I re-built radio, and amplifier, and have them playing. Next up is tv.
