Curbside Zenith Sentry 2

note on screen suggested 10 year old set - good audio - image had recently blanked out...came complete with remote. Took the back off and looked for any obvious causes. No smoke trails - no popcorn - no odour. Moderate greasy-dust build-up. Pulled neck card - no evidence of H.V. arcing around tube pins or socket. No soot within tube neck. All good signs - considering age and mileage. Replaced back with no attempt toward dust removal. Plugged in set and applied cable signal. Audio - no picture. Tube energized but no picture. Hmmm. Turned t.v. on and off a few times and presto! We have lift-off!! Remote hand unit batteries are good - no corrosion on contacts. Up channels only! Open hand unit and applied contact cleaner to circuit contact pads - very dirty. Reassemble and presto! Full function! :thmbsp: Minor buzz with some tint issues. Will reopen and give it the full cleanup and apply degaussing. Nice apartment-size unit. Happy happy! :banana:
