Hey everyone. I've got a 1986 Zenith SD2501W which tries to fire up but immediately shutsdown. There is a brief sec of life where the audio and channel indicator lights up and there is static on the tube but it keeps cycling on,off,on,off...... Now, there are two Large Capacitors adjacent to the Flyback which have bulging tops. Will replacement of these fix the problem or is it due to flyback failure in the first place? Can this be the protective X-ray shutdown circuit? Any help would be great. Thanks!

on the right of the chassis there will be a shiny tin box
the electrolytics under it are baked dry.

hello and thanks for the reply. Are you saying that maybe I shouldn't replace the large cap's in addition to the dried ones? Thanks alot!
