Howdy. A friend of mine has a 1991 SEARS/RCA CTC-166-A 19" color portable TV that has developed a few minor probs, one of which being it evaporated it's Thermistor (part no RT-4201). Can anyone tell me if a 120-ohm (cold) thermistor will work? If not, can anyone here sell me one that will work? I appreciate any suggestions or offered help.
P.S. Just found what was left of the damaged thermistor. It's marked: 100-01A / A1719. Does that mean it's a 100-ohm? Many thanks.

And that number is pretty much useless to the average joe, as far as finding a new part is concened.

The actual RCA part #, is a 6 digit number. In this case, the number you want is: 207768.

BTW-- that is ONLY for degaussing. it will NOT cause any operational problems with the set, ohter than a possible case of CRT magnetization. If any other problems are occurring, there is anohter problem, with that chassis, like a bad cap somewhere, tuner, etc.

Well the other problem was the lin.coil had two of it's four solder joints open and was intermittant and one bad p.s. cap. Those have been addressed. He just wants the set put back to right. Anyways, thanks RCA.

I finished with the repair this afternoon and am happy to say that it's back to as close to new as possible for a 14 yr. old set. Great picture and audio...better than my new Panasonic Tau. Thanks rca2000 for the correct stock number. MCM had 'em in stock!
