Sandy, your Orion TV idea is good, but you'd still only end up with a 9-inch set. Pretty cabinet, though. Maybe they should take out the insides and turn it into a bar.

Wasn't the scan rates for pre-war TV something like 441 lines per frame? NTSC is 525 lines per frame. Which means that this set had its deflection circuits slightly modified to be able to display the basketball game.

The TRK-12 has adequate range on the horizontal hold control to operate at 15,750 Hz. The output stage is less efficient at that frequency, so the width is marginal, but most TRK-12s have enough.

Another difference is that prewar TVs used AM sound. They will work with NTSC by aligning the audio IF and detector stages for slope detection.
