These were the preferred OEM parts supplier as opposed to independent "parts jobbers" that did sell rebuilt modules, triplers, HV hold-down caps and other equivalents at lower prices usually.
Sometimes a "replacement" transistor, rebuilt module etc. was not getting the job done. i.e. Sony distributor in Allentown HAD the right parts. Subbing an ECG/TCG/NTE, SK, GE, HEP.....device to use in a Sony was a waste of time!!
If you wanted good parts for Zeniths, you NEEDED these "middlemen". The factory rebuilt modules were ALWAYS better than PTS and other rebuilders.
Cambria equipment was a Zenith distributor for all of western PA, parts of WV, etc. Now named the Cambrian Equipment company, who sells concrete equipment, just follows the money which is now in construction.
Likewise, Pierce Phelps was Zenith's eastern PA and probably NJ and DE distributor that I dealt with. I was out of the game before Zenith had thier end-struggles. Now Pierce Phelps is giant distributor of HVAC equipment, also following the money, new homes and energy upgrades.
P.S. What the heck is "X-line", wasnt that 1967????
