KV-7010U bought at an estate sale, it appears to be working and producing a good image. He's looking to sell it.

Hi to all,
Hi Alan-in-Sitges,

Thanks! for the info, it's a super-rare set.
E-Type2 has the only one i know of in 40 years of tracing together the history of the Chromatron to Trinitron evolution.

Picture is superb and the TV is probably running on its original electrolytic capacitors.
Quite a feat, i have a KV-7010UA (Trinitron) and had 100+ electrolytics to change. I acquired it at the now defunct "Waves LLC" radio shop during a trip to NYC. Set was occasionally rented as a prop and was sitting forlorn in a back corner.

TV is in LA area, probably expect a "feeding frenzy" collector fight if it's for sale.

Best Regards

PS: Beware! of the carrying handle, it can't support the weight of the TV.
Always place your hands under the chassis.

I kind of want it but I'm also chasing a Magnavox concert grand that the seller could contact me any time (or never) to come and buy...
I've got a imminent solution to my income problem, but I've got no clue what a winning bid in that would be or if I manage a winning bid if at the end of the day I'd be better off importing one of the Japan market only chromatron consoles Sony sold(I actually find the consoles more interesting).

He's been gathering interest in Facebook too

I think the Chromatron in LA will go for a lot. I saw a couple Indextrons sell for $1k over the past couple years, and those a lot more plentiful and do not have as nice of a picture.

I think you can use a US proxy service to bid on it if you really want to actually. For something that's going to sell for so much, the fees on that will be a negligible part of the total cost. Those kind of outfits also handle shipping, and some of them do a pretty good job of packaging (especially compared to individuals), so if you are serious, I would do a little research on that first.

This is one of his postings. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=9129830867132216&id=295773603871364
He has made other postings and likely in other groups, but I haven't saved links and re-finding things I've seen on my main Facebook feed days ago often falls somewhere between tricky and impossible.

jhalphen,

That's actually the "ETM" or the Early Television Museum.

Jerome had it correct. The 2025 Convention is held at the ETF's museum.

Apologies. I did a search for ETF and came up blank, and the only way I found it was through the Early Television Museum webpage.
