Wondering if anybody recognized this set and had any info on it. It will be at local weekend estate sale and I'm slightly intrigued. Of course it probably weighs 200lbs and I don't have room.

Oh wow! N-I-C-E! Several of the old-heads here who could better help you identify the set but to me it looks early 50's and exceedingly rare, someone had a lot of extra money stashed under the mattress for this one. I guess I'm not that old at 55.

Based on the TV I believe it's a 55-56 model year. Hopefully it's not the upright doughnut chassis... Zenith only made them for a year or two because the repair men hated them....Helped inspire Zenith to keep their sets service friendly.

Condition is key here. Too nice & complete too pass up.
One our Zeniths had the same knobs, it was our bedroom set.
Mid 50's a good call. The main TV was a 1963 Maggy 27" & the CRT
only went 4 yrs. The old Z went into the 70's.

Found out is is a Zenith 1955 model R2387 Clarendon chassis 22T20 with 21 inch CRT. Don't know if this is a "doughnut" chassis or not. I got the crazy idea of converting a combo unit into just a TV console unit with a little cabinet surgery.

When it's in that nice of shape just fix the audio half too and enjoy it for what it is. Not as many combos as stand alone TVs out there...To the point I've been tempted to try and add a stereo system to some of the wider dual speakers standalone TVs.
