Felt sorry for this one and attempted rescue. Was sitting on its back, face up in the brush on the side of the road. Months, maybe a year or so. What seems like an 8 foot cord tried to follow but was real tight and embedded in the brush, etc but finally came loose. Loaded it up, brought it back and did a basic wipe down and removed the back. Wasn't the worst I've seen. Vacuumed out, checked the switches etc. reassembled and tested. Pic shows how it's running now. Left on for several minutes and seems stable. No odor or smoke. Speaker is shot as all the paper surround is gone due to weather. What things should I check on this one? What's the story behind the concierge? Hotel unit?

Yes, there two coax, one says something about an alarm, then there's 3 RCA.

The alarm one usually just has a resistor across the terminals inside. Detects if someone disconnects the cable to "move" the set.

I figured as much. I need to pull it back out and connect something so I can see how it looks rn.

Tried it again today. Can't get it to video input. Was able to jump from channel 2 to 3 etc. screen is blue with lines. Will connect VCR next.

You probably need the service remote to enable the video input.

I was in the hospital for an outpatient procedure this morning, and they had a Zenith set with the identical cabinet, except the logo on the upper left said something like "Healthview" (hard to read from the bed).

I've seen some that were made as late as 2008 using that same cabinet but also figured they had all been replaced by now. The late ones were all LG inside.

by a separate distributor level division. Came with NO labor warranty, priced much lower than the street model. Usually a dealer would do delivery & set-up
& sell a service contract for the sets. Nice profits !

Cant remember if Zenith did it but others had a special remotes
to set channel skip, pay TV, etc. You could try the service menu to turn
on the composite inputs. Keep in mind Zenith service menus are multi level.
And ALWAYS write down ALL menu settings just in case you gotta go back !!

Yes but it is blue even where there is snow with lines.
Update: was connecting a VCR for better pic and when I turned the TV on, I heard "pop" and now it's dead.

Odds are blue gun was shorted & blew out the power supply. Its from the time
of the BAD Zenith TV's Part it out & make more room ! The chassis wont
take up much room or eat much:D

About 12 years ago shortly before the Wisconsin goodwills stopped taking TVs a hospital dumped their complete stock of these on the Waukesha goodwill. They were trying to sell all CRT TVs at $0.50 each and having no luck. Seemed like half their furniture area was CRTs. If I wasn't in an apartment back then I'd have been tempted to grab a few and make a video wall.

When it was still running and blue, it also had retrace lines. Forgot to mention that. Does it mean the tube is bad and there's nothing that can be done. I really hate giving up on a project but it wouldn't be the first time. Can't be helped if it's a lost cause.

Ahh, I see. Should I attempt anything at all on this one?

I went ahead and tore this one down in preparation for disposal but first, I looked for the reason it went down and noticed the larger fuse was black. Rather than replace it, I passed since closer inspection revealed a ton of corrosion on the neck board and even more on the main board. Even a couple of components fell off. I'm just glad this wasn't an older set.
