I found this set near me and I can’t figure out what it it. Any ideas?

I think it uses the same chassis as my Raytheon porthole set. A few years ago when I was sorting Sam's photofacts in the 100s-200s I noticed that there were a TON of brands that used that chassis...Many of which used different cabinets.

Hey, thanks for the info! It’s funny, the only thing to identify this thing was removed. Not sure if it helps but it does have an antenna that’s attached inside the cabinet. Maybe that was a common trait of certain manufacturers.

Which worked at about 50% efficacy in the home at most of the time they were used! :D

Most of the Raytheon sets used a continuous tuner. The knobs on the left look right but the tuner knobs look strange! :scratch2:

What CRT is in it? It's hard to get an idea of the scale from the photo, but it looks to be a bit large for a 12 inch roundie, but that may be an illusion.

I asked the seller for more info but haven’t gotten a reply yet.

The knobs look like these on a Majestic 120, but I think the set in question is a 16 inch set. :scratch2:

For 21" and under monochrome around 1953 was the end of metal cone...Some of the jumbo 23-30" monochrome metal CRTs lasted a few years longer. Color CRTs the metal cone 21AXP22 came out in late 1954 and while dropped by RCA around 1958 was still put into Motorola 21CT2 sets upto 1963 when 6 years of limited production ended on those.

Going by picture I'll say 16" metal cone sets like that were pretty much 1949-1951 sets.

Philco made a 16" round B/W CRT in 1951! Raytheon seemed to make one too! They had a different number, but it seemed to be the same tube!
I found an old Allied catalog supplement dated 1952. There's a lot of information to what was available back then! The different CRT types! :yes:

It looks like a Console Version of my 1950 Meck "Philharmonic" TV that I posted about on here previously...:scratch2:

Also the outline where the pencil box control cover was has much the same shape as the Majestic.
