Hey, VK! I picked up this 2003 DynaFlat TV a month or two back while tech thrifting, and it's been a side job to try and get it to work with my setup. I am, unfortunately, a bit new to the hobby, so many small faults were had along the way, but with time I've ended up with something semi-functional. To the prolonged & collective groan of enthusiasts worldwide, I'm using one of those cheap, poor quality HDMI-to-component adapters connected directly to my HDMI source, whether it be a console or otherwise.
Problem is, component input on my TV has something wrong with it. The image has perpetual vertical scroll with some erratic warbling, and is also horizontally duplicated around ten times. I've verified that it doesn't affect AV or ant input, as well as verified that it's not an issue with the cheap adapter by testing on a separate TV. I've tried to mitigate the unfortunate effects via the rather unclear built-in image configurator, but nothing seems to come close to fixing even the vertical scroll. It's left me a bit stuck, especially as I haven't been able to find a new VCR to test with after my old one popped.
I also can't seem to get audio to work, but that isn't a pressing concern to me, since I can always feed it into the stereo instead. It'd be messy, but that's the joy of this setup. I haven't tested audio output on my control TV like I have video, so it could also be the fault of the HDMI conversion.
