A friend sent this from a look at a house cleanout. I can't ID the red badge. Kinda stylish. A fun AA5. Any ideas?

Hi Dave, the clock/radio in question is an Olympic, here is a clearer pic I found of one. I know it's not easy to see, but it says Olympic under the clock, and the red badge is the Olympic torch :thmbsp: Dave A 01-12-2023, 08:14 PM And pink to boot. That was fast. Perfect and thanks. End of thread. zeno 01-13-2023, 06:20 PM Pretty distinctive styling. And pink to boot. An AA5 I would like to have in my kitchen, but NOT near the bath tub ! My squaw may find a use for it ! :D 73 Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! Dave A 01-13-2023, 06:59 PM Ok, a bit more. Init4fun id's is an Olympic with the red badge owned by Seigler Corp. Another photo search finds it as Fleetwood on the lower badge with a paper tag under showing Fleetwood in Montreal and the red Olympic front badge now blanked. Did Siegler become Lear/Siegler? Pics need converting for later. All a minor mystery but it helps us figure out who was who. Electronic M 01-13-2023, 07:11 PM Ok, a bit more. While checking my Sam's folders for completeness I found that exact radio in at least 2 different Sam's folders under 2-3 different brands... Badge engineering has been a thing for a LONG time... Dave A 01-13-2023, 07:18 PM Or you were running out of gas (Olympic) and just bought enough (Fleetwood) to stay alive. This set was so far from their late 40's line up. And a Fleetwood 21" tv set is available near me. Moderne. |
